Electrical System problem #1

On December 27, 2025, while driving, the engine suddenly lost power and the vehicle entered limp mode and became undriveable. A warning light appeared and diagnostic code p1326 was later confirmed, indicating engine bearing failure. The vehicle could not be driven safely and required towing to a Hyundai dealership the following day. The engine failure caused a loss of propulsion safety risk. The vehicle remains out of service pending a full engine replacement. The vehicle is available for inspection at a Hyundai dealership.

Electrical System problem #2

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the brake auto hold was engaged unintendedly and failed to disengage upon pressing the button, which required the contact to turn off, restart, and drive the vehicle for some time for the brake auto hold to disengage. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The contact stated that the infotainment system was inoperable. Additionally, the passenger's side rear seat belt failed to buckle as intended, and the passenger's side rear door handle fractured while the contact was opening the door. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

Electrical System problem #3

I have experienced 4 repeated issues within 4 months with my vehicle. Starting in September 2025 and the 4th and current issue today 1/12/26. Driving when all of a sudden all of my brake components lamps come on dash oard, forward collision alert, and check engine, my vehicle struggles to accelerate accurately. Blue link diagnostic throws various codes such as ecm, transmission control system, even "multiple possible issues". Each time my vehicle has been at Hyundai dealership for repair. Each time they repair something different 1st- replace abs module and hydraulic brake, 2nd - happened out of state at my mother funeral and replaced my ecm, 3rd couldn't figure it out and guessed it was my forward collision camera and replaced it, 4th - is today and awaiting dealership diagnosis. This issue has left me stranded several times local and long distance, occured in middle of driving including on highway, and overall uncertain of the safety and reliability of the vehicle as each time it has been the same type of issue. I have been in communication with Hyundai corporate since October and they stated that even tho I only have 24k miles on the vehicle that it is outside the state of in lemon laws for a buyback. If I hadn't purchased an extended warranty I would be in even more debt or unable to put it in the shop even tho I don't feel like this should be my burden when I have kept this vehicle in great shape, low mileage, frequent oil changes, etc . However the safety of my vehicles goes unresolved. At this point I am uncertain that Hyundai is properly diagnosing my vehicle and not certain how these issues are impacting other components of my vehicle such as brakes, transmission, engine, sensors. I am the only owner of this vehicle bought brand new. I have checked repeatedly for any recalls that I have not addressed and at this time none are pending. I fear that this vehicle will continue to have more safety issues.

Electrical System problem #4

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle unintendedly shut off while driving. The vehicle was restarted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Electrical System problem #5

Had for a year. 6 months ago, started sputtering, surging, slowing and dying on a regular basis. Have had it shop at chapman used in Tucson, az and lawley Hyundai in sierra vista arizona 3 times. Chaan couldn't repair, so we went to lawley. The mechanism there keep saying they cannot reproduce! the engine malfunctions 3-4 time during any drive we do. Has been going on for 6 months.

Electrical System problem #6

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. No warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the a/c was blowing warm air. The contact lives in a hot climate and was concerned for the safety of her 2 minor children. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, three a/c compressors were used to attempt to repair the vehicle at a service center however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed at the owner’s expense due to the warranty being invalid. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 20v543000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Electrical System problem #7

The vehicle is a 2020 Hyundai Tucson with awd. Current mileage of the vehicle is 58,309. In the last 10k miles, there have had 4 separate instances of a sustained flashing check engine light that has put the car into limp mode. Since the first instance, a knock sensor, catalytic converter, and spark plug coil, among other things, have been replaced. However, the issues persist and have yet to be resolved. The engine continues to misfire, resulting in dangerous driving situations. Most recently (5/24/24) the car went into limp mode on an interstate highway where the vehicle was unable to accelerate and could not exceed 2000 rpms. The code scanner read p1326 - glow relay short circuit. This was just a week after the vehicle was towed to mcgovern Hyundai in brockton, due to the car being in limp mode (5/17/24) and the vehicle was given a clean bill of health. I was told that there was no cause for concern and the code was cleared. I’m extremely concerned about this issue with the vehicle and don’t feel that it is safe to drive, especially when it loses power on the highway. The vehicle is insured, but has not been inspected by an insurer. Nor has the vehicle been inspected by police. The car has been inspected by the dealership, but that have not produced any findings. The car is certainly available for inspection upon request.

Electrical System problem #8

2020 Hyundai tuscon may I have had numerous incidents where my stereo navigation screen goes black, and then instantly comes back. This happens frequently; whether or not my phone is plugged in. I have stopped plugging my phone into the car. May 1, 2024 as I was backing into my garage this afternoon I started the turn to get into my driveway. I turned the steering wheel tight and it seemed to lock up just like the car had turned itself off. My vehicles main screen went blank along with the stereo navigation. May 16 2024 as I backed into my driveway and straightened my steering wheel position to get into the garage the vehicle screen went black along with the navigation stereo screen I felt the steering wheel tug a little bit along with a knocking noise all lighting quickly came back and then the same exact thing happened again. I then finished backing in and turned the car off. May 18 my husband and I went to the market 1 mile away and as he was backing into the driveway at home the steering wheel locked up then the stereo navigation screen went black and we heard bumping sounds same as before. This happened numerous times in a row going in reverse and forward and we were able to get two videos. After we got the car parked in the garage we tried to open the back hatch to get the groceries out and we were unable to do so manually or with the key fob. At that time, we then noticed that the entire electrical system was down. I then sat in the front seat, tried to turn the car on and it was completely unresponsive. A few seconds later, we were able to open the back hatch along with turning the car on. At this point, we decided to have the car towed in as opposed to driving it in to have it looked at. We have videos of the issue as it happens. But cannot upload to your site.

Electrical System problem #9

Nhtsa should have a non-official recall warning for Hyundai vehicles that have this software based safety defect, which is some models don't have a passive engine immobilizer, and the vehicles can be easily stolen by starting the engine with a usb cord. Thankfully Hyundai(recall) offered a free anti theft software update, and a steering wheel lock. I checked my VIN number with the Hyundai dealership in oregon, and they said my car already received the anti theft software update. The only reason I knew my 2020 Tucson had this issue, is because state farm cancelled my insurance a month after I started paying for it. State farm and progressive currently deny new policies for vehicles without a passive engine immobilizer. Also state farm still denied my insurance after I got the software update. Affected Hyundai models from 2011 to 2021 that have standard “turn-key-to-start” ignition systems/without a passive engine immobilizer, are the accent, elantra, santa fe, sonata, Tucson, genesis coupe, palisade, kona, venue.

Electrical System problem #10

Warning lights for lane keeping, blind spot, abs, autohold, foward collision systems came on and will not reset. Reports of this all over Hyundai forums and owner fan pages (facebook, etc). It can fool the driver into believing the car is about to be in an accident prompting panic response in drivers.

Electrical System problem #11

My vehicle was stolen due to not having an ignition immobilizer. There were no warning lights. Yes its a known issue.

Electrical System problem #12

When parked and car is turned off , if I don’t get out right away (key in ignition still or not) a “battery discharge warning” shows up on my display.

Electrical System problem #13

While driving one evening, it was brought to my attention that my passenger brake light was remaining on, when I was not braking. A week later, both sides are on. This happens only if my headlights are on - automatically or if I manually turn my headlights on. The back center light will only come on when I high the brake pedals. Again, back brake lights on driver and passenger side remain on regardless of brake pedal is engaged.

Electrical System problem #14

In September 2021 I bought the reference unit and on 4 different occasions I could not use it because it had no power. I took it to the dealer and they didn't find any problem, I used it again and again it ran out of power. It has currently been at the dealer for 5 weeks and they have not found the problem. I had a conversation with the previous owner and she told me that she had returned the unit to the dealer for the same situation. So far the dealer has not received an answer as to what is wrong with the unit. Nor have they provided me with a vehicle. This situation has affected my family since daily we are complicated about how to get to our jobs and schools. The dealer is hyudai from cupey, puerto rico pr-8838, san juan, 00926.

Electrical System problem #15

Per the NHTSA recall 20v-543, the Tucson has a recall for possible brake fires since sept 2020. As of March 2021 no dealer in the area yet has parts to perform the recall service. Hyundai is taking an excessive amount of time to remedy the fire hazard.

Electrical System problem #16

The back up camera is fuzzy and blurry. It's hard to see through the camera to use it backing up in spot that I really need it. When it's dark its worse. The back up camera does not make the warning noise it should. I have came very close to hitting 2 parked cars and 1 person while backing up. I have made 2 payments on the Tucson. It's not even due for the first oil change. It has around 2,000 miles on it.

Electrical System problem #17

Recall #195 fire hazard dealer said to call back in 3 wks. To see if parts are available. (park away from house. Can catch fire. In that case its not safe to drive. (brand new not as is. } should be eligible for loner car . And compensated for time I cant use car.

Electrical System problem #18

My 2020 Hyundai Tucson was purchased new this year from west herr Hyundai I'm williamsville NY. I was notified of a vehicle safety recall related to abs issues in September 2020. I have contacted the dealer every week sense then, and they claim they are unable to compete the recall due to a lack of parts. I believe the dealer is negligent in addressing this issue and I would appreciate help getting this safety issue remedied.

Electrical System problem #19
