Suspension problem #2

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, there was a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the camshaft and timing belt was faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Additionally, the contact stated the front passenger’s side wheel was shaking and vibrating abnormally while driving, the hood release latch was unsecure, and the passenger’s side door handle had detached. The contact stated that the windows would randomly roll up and down without input from the driver. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 127,000. The VIN was not available.

Suspension problem #3

The subframe/suspension has completely rotten away.

Suspension problem #4

I have a recall on my 2016 Veloster nav and Hyundai hasn’t fix it, I drive my car everyday to go to work and I feel that my car is going to die soon, it’s feels unsafe, I would like to fix my car and I have call the dealership and they haven’t say anything about this just to wait, I can’t wait my car is my toll to go work.

Suspension problem #5

Is burning to much oil and mostly times smoke my car just have 110,543 miles. . .

Suspension problem #6

Upon turning and going over any kind of significant bumps or uneven surfaces the vehicle fish-tales from the back. I have tried it on different streets to ensure its the same issue and the issue is still present. I almost lost control of the vehicle on the freeway due to a small patch of uneven road. I have driven other vehicles over the same freeway spot to ensure it wast just my vehicle but did not get the same issues as I do with my vehicle. Also when coming to a full and complete stop and then putting my foot on the accelerator to move the vehicle forward the transmission does not engage correctly, either it waits to engage after the car reaches 4,000 rpm or jerks suddenly into gear both occur are on a daily basis. Another key problem with this vehicle happens when taking my foot firmly off the brake and pushing the accelerator on a hill, per the manufacturer the vehicle is suppose to wait about 15-20 seconds on a hill to allow me time to step on the gas to get the vehicle moving and prevent rollback into traffic or obstacles behind me however it is either not working correctly or defective.

Suspension problem #7

Sold a 2014 Hyundai Veloster with grinding brakes, acceleration problem, and vibration issues. I was told everything would be fixed. I returned the car within 24hrs. The car vibrates dangerously at 50mph and above. The car hesitates when taking off, trying to pass, or get on freeway. This is also dangerous because cars already going 70mph could of hit us while trying to get on freeway. Sometimes while giving the car gas it would just rev up the rpms without doing anything. This also scared me into returning the car. I went back to test drive the car to see if problems were fixed, and the mi gente auto dealership told me they just replaced tires and that fixed the problem. I told them they can keep the car, because I don't want to keep coming back for same issues. I was threatened with repossession will be added to my credit.

Suspension problem #8

During startup. When car is first ignition, while in neutral proceed to 1st gear an audible sound will be heard from right column and disappears. It will happen every start up sequence. I sent my car for service and they told me that it could be the electronic differential lock.

Suspension problem #9

Steering wheel clicks and vibrates during turns & lane changes. This issue is highly dangerous & has probably caused wrecks. I believe that the issue is in the plastic parts used. The suspension & struts are in need of replacement car is 5 years old, bought new off show room floor 2/14. 2013. Car has 80000 miles and is on the second set of low profile tires. I follow the maintenance guide in the manual.

Suspension problem #10

All the sensors are continual registering problem. Electrical system will stop working daily. Cannot have hood shut when key out of the ignition. If so alarm will go off. Suspension is off. It seems like the car is pulling a camper all the time. The problem has been continually getting worse the past 6 months.

Suspension problem #11

My car is having problems with transmission and brakes & suspension. Sometimes feels like the car is going to stop if I don't press the gas is really not a good experience nobody like to drive my car they said the suspension is horrible and not a good experience on transmission.

Suspension problem #12

Had car for around a year and have had nothing but issues with shakes suspension and as of recent a rod threw through my engine wall through my oil compartment. I keep up with the maintenance of the car regularly and for something so huge of that nature to happen is bizarre. Apparently hundreds of millions of Hyundais have been recalled due to engine failure (rods being thrown). I'm having the same issue as many other drivers with no resolution. I've reached out Hyundai multiple times to have them inspect the vehicle and have even had them just drive it around because you can tell right away this car drives funny. They only responded with well it's just the type of car. Well I would have never bought this car if I knew I would be having this many issues. This car is unsafe and needs to have the engine problems recalled along with the suspension when it jumps out of line. I feel like the shakey suspension when hitting a small bump and every other problem has been leading up to throwing the rod. I'm so disappointed and will be filling legal action if this does not get resolved in my favor. As I have no other choice.

Suspension problem #13

I purchased my velsoter brand new with 33 miles on it in November 2014. If Feb of 2015 I started to notice that the front end was shaking a little. I took it into my local dealership to have it looked at and get and oil change. I had about 8k miles on it. Their was a small scratch on one of the rims about 1/2 long, but nothing that would have caused the amount of shaking that was happening. The serviceman said he rotated the tires and their shouldn't be anymore issues. When I drove it home it was not any better in fact I thought it was worse. I took it back in yesterday to figure out why it is shaking and have it fixed. I was told that their were several dents in 2 of my rims which was throwing it off balance. I have not hit anything, I have not driven at speeds over 50. Their is no possible way that these dents happened due to anything being hit during normal everyday driving. They aren't looking anymore into it and won't fix it. I am very upset that this has been handled like this. Their is obviously some sort of defect or something with these particular rims if they have dents in them that have been caused by normal road conditions. They need to look more into it to figure out what the issue is because I should not be responsible for something that I have not caused.

Suspension problem #14

4 times I have hit a pothole or a bump on the road and have had a "loud bang", the car jerks violently and then the wipers came on - one time I had the "loud bang" the car jerked violently the wipers came on and the car went into neutral. The combination of the suspension, tires and rims make this car very dangerous on roads that have any kind of potholes or bumps. Please help.

Suspension problem #15

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo has a torsion beam rear suspension that when combined with the factory 18" wheels and stock kumho solus tires gives the car very unpredictable and dangerous handling characteristics over bumps where the rear of the car feels like it is "stepping out. " after talking to 5 Hyundai dealerships and having them perform various alignment attempts and technical service bulletins for road force balancing to improve the problem, it was still not corrected and nearly resulted in numerous crashes in the 1st year off ownership. After so many attempts to fix the issue and not having it resolved and seeing numerous other reports of it on forums and other review sites, I am convinced that there is a concerted effort to hide the problem and have made the difficult decision to file this complaint. Even the Hyundai service manager who most recently drove my car said "I felt it and I don't know what to do about it. " this was after the factory technician at the same dealership felt the issue and said "it is a very light car so it will just do that" and when I replied that a same year Volkswagen jetta with the same rear suspension design did nothing of the sort and even another model in the Hyundai line (elantra) did not have the same issue, he didn't reply. Most dangerous of all is if a rear tire becomes deflated at all on a snowy or icy surface. In my situation an left rear tire went down a few pounds and the car swerved much more wildly than most other cars would a little low on air. I went a year without letting anyone else drive the car out of safety concerns until I finally put winter tires on it in 2014 in a 17" size and felt an immediate resolution to the issue (so far) with both improved grip and over the road/ bump response. The factory low beams are dangerously dim also, again numerous complaints at numerous Hyundai dealer(s) ignored.

Suspension problem #16

When driving the vehicle the back wants to step out of line when going over bumps, this is more pronounced when going around a curve. Also when the vehicle hits a patch of snow, during the transition on to the snow and off the car feels like the ends want to switch places. If one rear tire transitions onto snow or ice the entire rear of the car wants to travel that direction, it also does this when crossing asphalt patches. It is more pronounced on roads with vertical grooving in the concrete. There have been time when in light snow conditions I have had to go about 35-40 mph just to keep the car straight and in my lane. By doing so I became a rolling roadblock, as the other traffic did not have the same issue as I did. I did go through a bbb case with the vehicle, but neither time were the road conditions conducive to this issue, and per Hyundai everything is set to factory specs(which I do not doubt). There is an inherent design flaw with the rear suspension of this vehicle and if something is not done, lives may be lost.

Suspension problem #17

During moderate braking on rough roads the vehicle makes a loud bang. At this time the brake pedal becomes very difficult to depress. This vehicle suffered four flat tires during the 2013/2014 winter in michigan due to pot holes. Two of the wheels had to be replace during one incident. Tire profile is not appropriate for roads in this area. Dealer had vehicle for a week but did not find a problem.

Suspension problem #18

The vehicle dangerously fishtails when hitting a bump, from the size of a small pothole to larger cracks in the road. Sometimes the fishtail is so abrupt it feels as though the car is going into the other lane, though it's not that dramatic, it does move your vehicle travel to one side or the other, changing from your original position in the lane. The rear suspension needs to be fixed in some way so that the vehicle travel in the rear is not so abrupt. I feel as though this could definitely cause you to lose control and wreck the vehicle.

Suspension problem #19

Cpsc#i12c0628a. 2013 Hyundai Veloster. Consumer stated that this car is very difficult to control when he drives. The consumer stated he has been in three accidents due to the bad design of the suspension. The consumer stated Hyundai used a twist beam rear axle on the suspension.

Suspension problem #20

The first incident happened as I was driving to michigan from indiana, on a cold but clear day. Half way into michigan I ran into a light dusting of snow, and before I knew it my rear end started sliding to the right. At first I thought I hit a patch of ice, but I soon realized I'm the only one sliding all over the road. My top speed 40 to 45 mph. Everyone was passing me with no problems. When I got to my parents house, I went to discount tire and bought new rims and snow tires. The result no different. Last week I was heading to chicago, and ran into rain at 70 mph. Same situation as before. The rear stepped out and I almost caused an accident. I'm terrified driving this car.
