Other Fuel System problem #1

Manufactured from December 26, 2006, through July 24, 2012. The affected vehicles may experience an oil leak from the front cylinder bank valve cover gasket. If there is a sufficient amount of oil dropped onto the alternator, the alternator will be damaged causing the charging system to become inoperative. My vehicle was in motion and shutoff while driving on the road.

Other Fuel System problem #2

My car was in an accident and was totaled iand none of the airbags deployed resulting in injury to my daughter she was driving east on park boulevard and another car traveling the same direction was in the left-hand turn lane and decided not to turn and pulled out and she had him.

Other Fuel System problem #3

The engine just quit while I was driving on the freeway during morning rush-hour. There was suddenly no response when accelerator was depressed. I managed to glide across 2 freeway lanes to exit freeway while car decelerated. This occurred on oct 7, 2008. I don't recall if at the off ramp red light, the car completely stopped and I restarted it or was barely idling. I do recall the car barely driving (it was trembling/rough idling) the few feet from the red light to the first gas station. I parked it and it would not start up. Hyundai towed it to their dealership. Mechanic diagnosed the problem was: "the throttle body has failed and needs to be replaced. " I haven't experienced this again--and had not experienced it before this incident. While I managed to avoid crashing into other vehicles going 50-70 mph when I glided across the lanes, this was a terrifying experience. (I am submitting this complaint 1-1/2 years after the mechanical failure only because of the serious problems Toyota customers have experienced w/sudden acceleration, etc. I just want to ensure that NHTSA was informed by Hyundai back in 2008 of my potentially deadly engine failure on a freeway during rush-hour traffic. I think they should have had a duty to report this serious failure to you, and if they did, great. In case they didn't, now you know. ).
