Air bag light is on and stays on.
Airbag light came on. Dealership says the passenger occupancy sensor has failed and it will cost $2600 to repair. This seems very dangerous and like it should not fail under normal wear and tear. The sensor can not detect if a child or adult is in the passenger seat, making the car incredibly dangerous! this has happened to several other Hyundai vehicles as well. Clearly a systematic problem!.
The airbag light just came on when I started my vehicle. I am the original owner and the car has never been any sort of accident. I had a service tech pull the codes (b1448- OCS mat defect and b1481 - high resistance too high(2nd stage) for driver side airbag and the code points to the clock spring. There is a recall on these model Veracruz's but not on my VIN. Hyundai may need to expand their VIN list. I have the car sitting now until I get this resolved by Hyundai. My car is the exact same model and color as pictured here. . Read more...

The airbag light came on on dash panel Hyundai advisor thought it may be a loose connection and to have it looked at on our next service visit, after Hyundai diagnosed the problem it turns out that is the clock spring which has a recall dated 9/11/2011 recall confirmation #11v472000, Hyundai dealer told me that my VIN is not involved in the recall.
The airbag light has been on for 2 weeks. I've had to take this car in several times because the abs light has gone on after every service, so I don't know if it's the sensor or the actual airbag that's the problem. It's a pain, and I don't know whether or not to be worried, with all the negative press about airbag issues these days. If I take it in I'm sure they'll charge me a lot to fix it.
Esc off, abs & airbag lights are on for the Hyundai Veracruz. As few users of complained here this seems like an issue that other people have as well. I would request NHTSA look into this and have Hyundai take care of this. . Read more...
