Headlights problems of the 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. While driving 70 mph, the headlights shut off. The failure recurred, but the headlights did not shut off completely and were significantly dim while driving various speeds. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The headlights provided inadequate illumination which caused the driver to experience limited visibility. The failure occurred while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The headlights were adjusted; however, the failure continued to occur. The contact has concerns of the safety risk involved. High & low beam headlights can't be adjusted separately. My low beams are ok however the high beams shoot up way to high. (I could use them for bird hunting). I am a police officer there has to be something done about this problem. I noted that is already is a complain about the headlights with NHTSA. The dealership advised they can't adjust the high beams down or it will affect the low beam.

He spoke to the dealer numerous times and they stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. They stated that the lights were issued to Hyundai's standards and requirements.
