Air Bag Problems of Hyundai Veracruz

Dashboard is literally disintegrating into many small pieces. The area over the passenger airbag will come at the passenger as plastic shrapnel. It will also probably affect the force the bag has when inflated. This issue is from using substandard materials.

On September 26, 2021 the airbag indicator light in my 2012 Hyundai Veracruz remained illuminated upon starting the vehicle. Around a day later, the airbag light stopped illuminating. Around a month later, I received a letter from Hyundai regarding a warranty extension to cover the clock spring, so I contacted my local Hyundai dealership. Tracy Hyundai indicated that the clock spring is fine, however there is a faulty passenger side occupant sensor. The fault code cleared; however this creates a safety issue as it is unknown if the front passenger airbags would deploy in the event of an accident. Tracy Hyundai indicated that Hyundai corporation no longer makes this part so there is no available resolution. I contacted Hyundai corporation, however they could not assist and referred me to contact the dealership.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact stated that while driving on a mountain pass road a deer jumped in front of the vehicle. The contact's vehicle swerved down a mountain pass and none of the air bags deployed. The contact did not remember much since he had passed out from the crash. The vehicle crashed through a sign and went 300 yards down a pass. The vehicle crashed into trees as the it went over the edge. The vehicle was found the next day. The contact was taken out of the vehicle but did not go initially to the hospital. He had a concussion, broken ribs, swollen legs, and an injured shoulder. The contact did not remember when he received medical help but said he passed out several times in the days after the accident. The contact was not sure if a police report was filed. The vehicle was totaled and the dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 130,000. Tf.

The esc light goes on and off when I am driving. In addition, the safety seat belt light is on. I feel these are tied to teh recall on this made and model, however, when the dealer runs my VIN, it is not on the list. I feel this is in error especially when I read the safety recall info on recall #13v113000, 09v122000, and 11v472000. I am not sure why my vehicle is not on the list when the VIN is run against the database since the description and symptoms are described in these known recalls. How do I get my VIN properly included in these recalls. The dealer refuses to work on it as part of the recall unless it is in the database. These are safety issues.

Vehicle alternator went, something in driveshaft broke, causing vehicle to go right on its own into telephone pole, sir bags didn't deploy. Recalls are out on these issues but no one has covered vehicle loss and loan.

My car was in an accident and was totaled iand none of the airbags deployed resulting in injury to my daughter she was driving east on park boulevard and another car traveling the same direction was in the left-hand turn lane and decided not to turn and pulled out and she had him.

Replace alternator and vail cover gasket and head lights and brake light.

Esc light comes on and off. This is repetitive problem. It looks like Hyundai has no idea how to fix. . If you google Veracruz esc light, you will see tons of posts complaining about this. . Air-bag sign is on intermittently after the recall. Hyundai refuses to repair because when they take the car into the garage, the light is off(unable to read the code).

My airbag and esc lights went off and I took the car to dealership. They are saying that both the control modules (abs, airbag) need to be replaced and the parts alone cost around $2600. The car is out of warranty because of 5 year period (bought in sept 2008) even though the mileage is less than 60k. There were multiple recalls on this vehicle and it seems like these modules should not be failing for 50k miles. I have heard multiple people complaining about the issue and I think Hyundai should get the control modules replaced.

Passenger airbag is slowly expanding causing damage to interior of vehicle. Passenger airbag is now nonfunctional and Hyundai doesn't care about the safety aspect of it. I've been several dealerships and spoke with customer relations regarding problem and nobody seems to care.

Hard air bag fault light on. No impact.
