Check Engine Light On Problems of Hyundai XG300

I have ongoing problems with my car since after purchase in 2007. Hyundai case #3479162 check engine light was going on and staying on unless the battery would die. Failed emissions said to be caused by air sensors but codes kept getting whipped out. Car has been to dealer countless times! car lunges thrashing motion while at a stop or driving. The air bag light stays on at all times,the first time the lunging happened I thought I was out of gas, with the exception of the violent thrashing that occured/s. My cars control panel,headlights and interior lights dim,shut off at will. All radio & control panel lights come on and go off at any time. The radio starts changing from fm to am to cd at any given time including while the car is turned off and unattended. The tail lights, brake lights and running lights also turn on/off by themselves whether driving the car or if the car is sitting in my driveway. I have to get my car jumped every time I go to start it . It wasn't until earlier this year that a neighbor came to let me know that I left my lights on in the middle of the night. I knew nobody had been in my car because I was recovering from a major surgery and my car keys are always with me. This incident with the neighbor shed light on part of the problem. Now I know why my battery is constantly dead. I just don't know why the car is turning on it's electrical components. The ongoing problem with the battery drain has caused the codes for the car to keep being erased so there is no way to diagnose cause for the check engine /air bag light coming on. It's frightening that the lights go on or off, day or night, without cause. This is very dangerous while night driving! the stalling out while driving causes complete loss of the steering/brakescontrols and all power. I am terrified of hwy driving now! I could cause an accident that may kill me or someone else!the thrashing and lunging of the car scares me. The electrical is going on at least 8x day/night. This car is dangerous!.

I have had several problems with my 2001 Xg300 since purchased in March 2001. I had to take it to the dealer because of hesitation on acceleration and making a rumbling noise in the engine 2 months after I purchased it. The first time the car was supposed to be fixed, I drove it less than 2 miles and it was doing the same thing. The second time the manager said he would take the care himself and after he putting over 50 miles on my care and keeping it 4 days it appeared to be fixed. More recently, the engine light came on the car was bucking while in gear and lunging while at a dead stop. They kept my car for 2 weeks to replace the induction valve, throttle body and gasket, air flow sensor. (they couldn't find the part anywhere in the country was what I was told) and after 2 weeks and $375. 00 for a 30,000 mile check, the next day the care did the same thing. Returned the car they kept it 1 day stating it was computer problem and that night the car was still bucking while stopped. I will attempt to have it repaired again but I believe this car to be defective. This car has also been towed 3 times. Another incident, the car cut off and stayed in the dealership for 3 days for them to replace the battery. I will be checking the lemon law criteria.

Ltr fm maxwell parrish sr (ok) re defective air conditioner/heater display in his 2001 Hyundai xg-300 & defective michelin tires. Since the vehicle was purchased the vehicle has had three blowouts and nine flat tires. The manager at the firestone store concluded that the original equipment tires were constructed from inferior rubber. The a/c and heater display cannot be seen on bright sunny days and the check engine light illuminates intermittently.

While traveling on the highway and without prior warning check engine light appeared on the dashboard and will not go off until vehicle is turned off.

Traveling at 45 to 55 mph, engine stalled and check engine light came on. It led to lost of power and acceleration on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, because the engine light continued to illuminate. The consumer stated the air bag light illuminated, there was a cracking sound under the vehicle, there was a wind noise and a vibration coming from the vehicle. The injectors, gaskets, ignition sensor and throttle body were replaced.
