The red airbag light continues to stay on after many repairs by the dealer.
What would cause the indicator for my airbag light came on and will not go off. What should I do? my mileage odometer has done rolled over one time, the above mileage is the current miles = 131679 what do I need to do?.
Nothing happened. The air bag light went on. I kept driving it to see if it would go out. Took the car to local garage and after a $350. Charge I drove it home and light was off. Next day light was back on. Took it back and was told the spring mechanism in air bag wasn't working. I took it to a Hyundai garage and they quoted a price of 1600 plus labor to fix it. After looking it up on the internet it seems Hyundais have had many problems with air bags. Why not any recalls? I love my car but $2000. To fix a 2004 with 78000 miles seems like a lot of money. Should I fix it?.
Airbag light came on in 2011 and was told entire seat had to be removed to stop light. Could not afford the cost. Returned to dealer again in 2014 as had read connector under seat might be disconnected which could be causing the problem and dealer found this to be true and secured the connected and the light went out; however, within few weeks, light came back on and has remained on since. I did not ask the dealer about it again, knowing I would have to pay for a major take-out of the seat to correct. Overall, the light has been on for at least 5 years. I am the original owner. The light came on before mileage was 51,131 and mileage is currently 83,486. I cover the light with electrical tape as it disturbs me that I can't get it easily fixed. I doubt if the airbags work but don't know for sure and probably won't unless I have an accident or a recall is made for the dealer to fix the problem.
Air bag sensor light came on. New sensor was put in under warranty. A year later the sensor light came back on. It was replace at my cost ($250) because it was out of warranty. A year later the sensor light comes back on. It was not fix, however, when the timing belt was replace in 2013 at 60,000 the sensor light went off. After recent dealer computer repairs in March of 2015 the sensor air bag light came back on April 2015. My neighbor has the identical model and has the same problem with the sensor light. There are blogs on line that discuss the failures of the air bag sensor. I don't know if the air bag works or not.
2004 Hyundai Xg350l has had intermittent air bag light come on dash during warranty period. All repairs under warranty as simple fix of loose connections. Within six months of out of warranty period air bag light on again and taken to Hyundai dealership who now states that this repair is out of warranty and will cost over one thousand dollars. In the interm the supplementary restraint system will not work.
I have a Hyundai Xg350 2004 model. I have had it in for service with the air bag light 10 times. They have replaced the seat belt, seat base sensor, seat back assembly and the steering wheel clock spring. Do you think it is safe to drive, will it deploy in case of a crash?.
