I noticed a clunking when stopping. My hired mechanic claims the engine cradle is rusted through and needs replacement. I read it had a recall for this vehicle. 2004 Hyundai Xg350 4 door sedan.

Vehicle has a front rusted subframe in two spots on passenger side it will not pass inspection. It is dangerous to keep driving it it looks like there is a recall on this issue in 04/2009, but it says 0 unrepaired recalls which is obviously not correct manufacturer: Hyundai motor company mfr's report date: Apr 14, 2009 NHTSA campaign id number: 09v124000 ea08016 NHTSA action number: ea08016.
Car was inspected at mechanic during a routine oil change. Mechanic stated that the frame was rusted, which could affect the ability to safely operate the vehicle. I did a search and discovered that similar damage was noted in a recall 09-01-020 dated July 2009. Unfortunately, my vehicle was not included in the recall due to the manufacture date, but the same problem as the ones included in the recall exists.
The engine cradle is rusting out it may affect the steering control and may cause a major accident. The control arms are mounted to the engine cradle.

I was recently the victim of a near catastrophic mechanical failure while operating my 2003 Hyundai Xg350l. I noticed the steering pulling hard to one direction, which made me take it for a tire inspection. The inspection revealed I needed a wheel alignment. The mechanic pointed out that the entire sub-frame was corroded and that it needed to be replaced, while investigating parts and prices, I discovered that there is a standing recall on this model Hyundai for the exact problem I discovered. I called the recall line, received a confirmation number 11209268 & 3a249831; an an appointment for repair at happy Hyundai. On my drive toward the dealership, the tire began to rub into the wheel-well each time I hit a bump, but I was on the expressway so I had to keep going to my exit. As soon as I came out of the exit turn, the car failed and I narrowly avoided a serious crash!!!! the motor was still running, but it would not go into gear. Each time I tried it would make a loud noise. I called a tow to take it to the dealer. When I looked underneath the car, I could see where a piece of the frame failed. I checked the car into the dealer and I was told it would be a week for the repair. I waited a total of two weeks without a call or email. When I initiated a call they told me the person who I was dealing with had quit. The new person said he was not even aware my car should have been serviced. He further said that someone else would have to call me before they would complete the repair. Sir, I work as a driver. I have not been able to earn my living for more than two weeks based upon poor customer service. My car is there based upon every symptom described in your recall, but after over two weeks I still do not have my car. My interview of other mechanics informs me that the repair takes no more than four hours even if its worst case scenario.

My 2005 Hyundai Xg350l was deemed "undriveable" tonight at the service center (after being taken in for an unrelated issue), as the frame was corroded to the point of nearly-crumbling. The car was driven in iowa (always parked in garages) from the year of purchase in 2005 to August 2016. The salt corrosion recall covers model years 2001-2004, but mysteriously does not include model year 2005. I am not the only person with this issue! I am very frustrated that Hyundai does not cover my unsafe vehicle for an issue they created and for which they should be responsible. This is a disappointing and dangerous problem.
The break warning light comes when no problem with lights or breaks when you hardly touch the breaks. It bothers or concerns the driver. When there is no problem why should warning light come on? did you have similar problem like this with any other vehicles of this model.
"takata recall"-my airbag light has been on for over 2 years! I bought my Hyundai Xg350l in August 2012 from a dealership in maryland. In 2014, I started the car and the airbag light came on. It's been on ever since. The light only goes off when the car is off. I had open-heart surgery in June 2012 and was, and still am in fear of anything possibly hitting me in my chest! therefore, I took the car to be checked at two different nationally-known auto repair business. I also took it to a Hyundai dealer. I have constantly been told there were many issues and complaints regarding the airbags for the Hyundai cars and to check on a possible recall soon. I'm still waiting for a recall on these defected airbags! I have major concerns about driving the car for this reason, but I really don't have any other choice. My driving is limited though. Please recall so this issue is no longer a threat to my health! thank in advance.
