The contact stated that the area where the air bag was located was melted and the contact believed that the air bag would not deploy in the event of a crash. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to southwest Infiniti (10495 southwest fwy, houston, TX 77074 (713) 779-2800) where the technician stated that the melting dashboard was common. The contact was provided an estimate to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that they could not take action or offer assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
