Infiniti FX35 owners have reported 9 problems related to carrier/rack (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have had my car for 4 years now and it was garage kept with one previous owner so I'm told. Since I've had the car I have not been able to provide a covering for the vehicle. For the four years I have had the dash feel like it's melting. It's stuck to anything I've put or laid on it and causes cracks and run lines where the cracking has taken place. During cold months it shrinks and during the summer months expans and started feeling sticky and melting. Has made some buttons stick that are close the the dash before so having an inconvenient of being stuck on shuffle for music is a thing thru the summer. Over time is getting worse and I can't use anything to clean the sticky stuff because I'm afraid to make it worse. Will send images when someone contacts me about the problem thru email. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We go to the nilly dealership in atlanta GA. They are really great.

The dashboard has been cracking with Infiniti offer no help. Now I attempted another time to address the issue with them, and the cracking has happened in the passenger airbag area, where my concern is should this airbag deploy, there will be sharp dashboard plastic flying as a result.

The dashboards of the Infiniti Fx35 becomes like a sticky gummy like substance. The dashboards also crack and chip without cause and reason and without doing anything to it. This can happen within only a couple of months of owning the vehicle.

In the search of a new dashboard for my 2010 Infiniti Fx35 due to a spider web cracking manufacturing issue, I came across another 2010 Fx35 with the exact same crack in identical spots. I thought this is impossible to be a coincidence. The main issues are dashboard cracking. Due to the manufacturer defect, this lowers the value of the vehicle tremendously. Please see attached comparison pics below.
I opened the sunroof while driving about 60-70 mph on the highway and the glass of the sunroof completely flew off the car and went up in the air about 30-40 feet. The break or separation of the glass from the roof was clean so there was no damage to the sunroof mount/bracket which still operates like it should without the glass. This is vary dangerous as it could kill someone driving behind me. My insurance company said that the sunroof glass should not break apart from the mount of any vehicle, that I should contact the manufacture. I called Infiniti consumer affairs and they do not want to do anything for me.

Cracking dashboard in multiple areas: around entertainment center, around each air vent, where knee touches dash (near steering wheel). And now I'm feeling the driver's side arm rest begin to crumble. I believe there is an inferior product behind the fancy dash material and it is now crumbling. Vehicle is parked at home in garage or in shade.

In the summer or fall of 2012, I took my vehicle in for service of the horn, wasn't working nor was my remote foe locking and unlocking. A few days later I seen a crack near the passenger side of the air vent. Now the cracks have spreaded to other areas of my dashboard. I was never informed of any recalls in the past about repairing/or replace dashboard.
I am the second owner of this vehicle. The dashboard has been melting since 2012. I took my vehicle into a new orleans Infiniti dealership who told me to contact the manufacturer because there was a recall on the bubbled melting dashboards. I called the manufacturer in 2012 and they told me that the recall had expired. I asked them why didn't I get a notification they stated that the notification went to the original owner. At this time they updated their system with my address and contact into. I tried again in 2016 they told me the same thing, that it expired. I tried again August 2018 and was told that the recall was extended but once again it expired in 2014, this is very frustrating because I called in 2012 and was told I no longer qualified only to find out that it was extended and I still wasn't notified of the extension. My luxury leather seats have also begun cracking and tearing up. I am so displeased with this experience. I have owed my vehicle for 8 years and will never purchase another Infiniti, this is a luxury brand vehicle and I am very embarrassed to ride around with anyone in my vehicle because this is always the first question people ask about. . . . What happened to your dashboard?? please help me get this resolved.
