Infiniti FX35 owners have reported 6 problems related to other fuel system tank assembly (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I changed the camshaft sensor because it gave me an error code since my car was taking too long to turn over. Than the slip and vfc off light came on and my car would jerk and the brake light would come on and it would just stop completely. Than I changed a coil and the oil. Now the oil is completely empty within 2 weeks. And I'm constantly putting gas and it's like the gage doesn't work. Because sometimes it's completely full and the gage will read half tank. Now it's giving me another code and saying there is a misfire. If I turn the ac on the shaking is worse and it smells horrible.

Inoperative fuel sensor , indicates half a tank when it is full, it then slowly rises to full and then back down to empty, causing the low fuel light to come on. At times it indicates a full tank when it is not . I have contacted Infiniti about this issue because I have ran out of fuel, this is a safety issue. I was told that the recalls are set according to the VIN. At the moment there aren't any recalls for this vehicles fuel sensor, but there is a recall for the exact problem on the Infiniti qx model.
I have been having problems with the fuel gauge on my 2004 Infiniti Fx35. It will only reflect 3/4 of a tank when I have filled it up with 17-18 gallons of premium fuel. Sometimes it reads empty(light goes on and screen reflects *** miles to empty) this happens alot. This has been going on and off for over 6 months. When I called the dealer to asked them they told me I could bring it in for them to check but I would have to pay. Even though my warranty expired I don't feel that I should have to pay for something that isn't working properly. The scary part is if I don't keep track of how many miles I have driven, I get scare I will get stuck somewhere when I am out with my 3 daughters. This also happen with the m45.

2004 Infiniti fx 35 dash board bubble , fuel gauge problem can not read full tank or empty tank.
The fuel guage gives a faulty reading. I can have a full tank, and the guage will read between 1/4 tank and empty, even prompting the red 'low fuel' indicator lightt to illuminate.
The gas gauge is always wrong. Since I first had it, the behavior of this component has never shown full, and shows empty far too early, often 6-8 gallons before the tank is out. I looked up my recall for my airbags, which this car has, and I noticed a number of complaints here. I searched Infiniti forums and found a large number of complaints with recommended fixes. I cleaned the parts, and it improved, but now the gauge is off again, and this isn't safe, since I cannot trust when I will run out of gas. I also wonder about my odometer and what its reading. There seems to be something wrong with these indicators.
