Brake Light problems of the 2003 Infiniti G35

The rear shelf brake light has stopped working. This is an led light that should last a quite a bit longer if not lifetime. Obviously, the car was designed so this part does not have to be replaced. To replace this light, the entire back seat and rear shelf trim and back side trim must be removed. The light itself costs $150. 00 and the dealer charges $500. 00 to replace it. I have seen numerous 2003 G35s with the non functioning brake light, most likely due to the expensive repair. This is a safety issue and clearly a product defect.

My third brake light went out so I went to the dealer to purchase a replacement led lamp. The price of the lamp was $185. 00! the parts department said they are very difficult to replace as you have to remove both the trunk lining and rear seat to replace the led lamp. The labor to replace the lamp is $200. 00! I have since noticed that about one half of the Infiniti G35 and g37 models I see on the road have their high mount third brake light inoperative. This is with out a doubt due to the extremely high cost and difficulty to replace what should be a simple replacement lamp.

The 3rd location brake light in the rear deck area quit working, and there is no easy way to get to it and repair it. It is a led unit, and it appears that it was designed and installed to never fail, because it is very difficult to get to.

The third brake light on the rear window deck fails to work intermittently creating a situation where vehicles following may not realize that our vehicle is braking. This creates a concern for my safety as well as my childrens safety. This is a very frequent problem with Infiniti vehicles of this make but Infiniti will not acknowledge the problem.

3rd brake light was out causing failed state inspection. Once I researched the problem, it was learned that many similar vehicles had the same issue. I was not aware of the issue since the light is behind the rear glass of the vehicle, so I do not know how long I was driving around without a rear brake light causing a safety hazard.

The third brake light on my car works intermittently. This is the brake light that resides on the rear accessory package on the inside of the cars along with the speakers. The lights are not replaceable in this unit because they are led and have notice many other G35 with the same problem and its an outrageous 125 dollar replacement for something that should last indefinitely since they are leds.

The third brake light (in the rear window) of the 2003 G35 sedan went out recently. At first, only half of the six were out, but then all of them went out. I've repaired it by ordering replacement leds for the light and installing those on the board.

High mount "third" brake light on Infiniti G35 (03 to ?) seem to be going out frequently resulting in very very costly repairs considering its only a light. The design requires removal of the seat costing $500+. A simple, safely related problem should not be so difficult to address and Infiniti should be responsible for the poor design of a safety related system and pay for the repairs.

There is a known issue with the rear window brake light of the Infiniti G35. In 90% of 2003-2004 cars, this issue is known to occur. A non-functioning brake light is a serious safety issue. Infiniti has yet to issue a recall. Later model years do not suffer as much from this issue. To make things worse, this is not a simple bulb replacement. The G35 has a fancy and expensive led system. A specific diode is known to go bad, which makes this more of a electrical system failure.

I own a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan and the rear (third) brake light, which is led has an intermittent flicker to the point that it does not even function at times. I can only notice this at night time (when the reflection of the rear window is more visible) so I can only assume that it does it all the time.

My 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan has a malfunctioning 3rd brake light. The light has stopped working on my car a few months ago. When I informed the dealership, I was told that they could fix it for a fee. I have spoken with many owners of this car on forums and in person, and many complain of the same problem. The 3rd brake light works intermittently or not at all. I think this is a manufacturer defect but Infiniti does not agree. My model does not have a spoiler. Electrical issues auto a/c stays on none of the console buttons work. Stereo doesn't work 3rd brake light went out. Bose sound is not working. I have not got t fixed it yet.

03-06 Infiniti G35 sedans have issues regarding the rear, center high-mount brake light. The units are prone to premature led failure, as well as the entire unit not working at all, or working only infrequently due to some sort of wiring or circuit board issue. Not only does this issue exist on my own car (2003 G35 sedan) but I have witnessed the same problem on several other G35 sedans. Because this issue comes and goes, and the light may stop working and then start again randomly, it is very possible for someone to be unaware of the issue on their vehicle. This is also very much a safety concern, as it increases the chance that another vehicle approaching from the rear will not notice the brake lights without the center light, resulting in a greater chance of collisions.

An aftermarket company is repairing the brake light boards as Infiniti is charging over $400 for the repair and denies it is a problem. 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe 3rd brake light is out (inside glass). This is a common issue with the G35. It needs to be brought to Nissan of America's attention. This could possibly cause an accident. I have seen that 28 people have filed a complaint to you on my car forum. But I feel that this issue needs to be addressed ASAP. If it were just one car with the issue then I would gladly pay for it, but since this is a common issue, Nissan of America needs to fix this as it was a production issue.

The heating/defrost/ac unit stops working while driving causing window to fog up during cold weather - back seats are ripping, like brittle. Brake light in back window goes off and on, works when it wants to.

I was told that I needed a new air bag and a new module for the brake lamp located in the back window. There was no reason provided as to why these items broke. I think these were safety defects.

This is in regards to an ongoing problem with Infiniti G35 coupe's and sedans. Many G35 owners all over the country including my hometown arizona, have had many problems with their third brake light (in the rear view window) not displaying when the brake is engaged. There have been many complaints to the manufacture but nothing has been done. I figured this is a step for not just other owners to realize the problem but to have it announced nation wide so we are not at fault for the faulty product. We don't want to be pulled over for not having a non working third brake like or even cause a crash due to someone not seeing a brake light in the center. As a owner of Infiniti G35 coupe there has been many components that need addressing to but there is only so much that the owners are able to do. I write you this in order to have another word that is higher up the just an average joe owner complaining about there product. This is a faulty part that us as owners should not be a fault for in any means. I hope that this helps in the sense of getting the issue resolved and having the roads safe knowing there is a third brake light engaging and lighting up for other drivers to see. Thanks.

2003 G35 sedan, 3rd brake light does not work, it's been off when it was under warranty. It was not fixed. I see many other G35's on the road without their 3rd brake light, I think it's very much a safety problem. There's also no way to know if your 3rd brake light is out or not, unless you have someone following you or looking at you.

My 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan's brake back light does not work so I am always so paranoid that someone will rear-end me (that happened once) because they could not see my third brake light. This is a major safety concern and Infiniti fails to recognize that this is a faulty problem on their side.
