Two problems related to camshaft position sensor have been reported for the 2003 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Camshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2019

Crankshaft angle sensor and camshaft position sensor both failed causing vehicle to stall at low rpm's (engine dies loosing brakes and steering). Infinity recall #r3021 has this problem yet my vehicle not included in this recall for some reason. Called infinity and they will not help me. What are my options? my cost is $621. 86 repairs and diagnosis.

2 Camshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2017

Twice now, the vehicle has completely died while in motion, once while backing out of a driveway, another time while driving. Took to a mechanic (not dealer mechanic) who said it was the cam shaft and crank sensors. I looked online and saw that there had been a recall for this part for this year, 2003 for Infiniti G35. Yet when I called, I was told that my VIN was not included in the recall. This to me seems highly suspicious. My 17 year old daughter was driving the car at the times it spontaneously died. I was very glad that she was not on the freeway or somewhere else busy when it happened! this vehicle has otherwise been completely dependable over the past 14 years of ownership, to have it spontaneously die while driving is very frightening for a dependable vehicle!.
