Hood Hinge problems of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Three problems related to hood hinge have been reported for the 2004 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Hood Hinge problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

2004 Infiniti G35x. Consumer states problem with vehicle brakes the consumer also stated the hood hinge was corroded, there were evop issues, and a fuel valve leak which caused difficulty in not being able to re-fuel the vehicle to its capacity.

2 Hood Hinge problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2007

1) no events led to failure, vehicle was properly maintained. Hood was opened. 2) hood does not properly close, vehicles hood hinge pivot has bound, causing the corner of the hood near the windshield to rise. This does not comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 219, "windshield zone intrusion. " consequence of noncompliance: in the event of a vehicle crash, the hood could be pushed back through the windshield glass, possibly injuring the vehicle occupants. 3) an estimate has been gathered for replacement of both hood hinges. Old parts will be available for inspection. I will arrange for vehicle to be available for your inspection at your convenience.

3 Hood Hinge problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2007

1. There were no events leading to the failure. Vehicle properly maintained. 2. Passenger side hood hinge failed. This caused damage to the hood and the fender. Hood does not open or close properly. I am fearful of hood opening under speed. 3. Dealer and Infiniti have refused to repair vehicle under warranty although still within the warranty period of 4 years or 60,000 miles.
