Car has unintended acceleration that can only be stopped by turning off ignition key. This happens without warning. When stopped and foot on brake car accelerates to top rpm then brake goes to floor resulting in no control of car.
2004 Infiniti G35 lost power when driving. Service engine soon light as well as vdc lights are on. It is hesitant to start after that. Has happened at least one time each during the last three times the car was driven. Major safety issue as the it has happened when turning at a major intersection. Luckily we were able to coast the car to the side of the road. Same issue exist on the 2003 G35 in which there was a recall for, but none exists for the 2004 models. Contacted infinit in which I was told there was no active campaigns for my model, except for the side airbags. Was told that this would be treated as a repair (subject to very high dealer costs) and not a recall. I have found many other post on the internet with the same issue for the same model and the same complaint that it is not addressed by Infiniti. How has Infiniti verified that this does not exist in other model, especially being so close the 2003 and 2004?!? this is a major safety issue.
The contact owns a 2004 infinit G35. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently and suddenly decelerated to 10 mph as the service engine light illuminated. The contact coasted to the emergency lane and shut the vehicle off. The vehicle restarted and the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 208,000.
I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle. This is the second 2004 G35 I've owned and the first one I purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner . . . Although it was a G35x. This is how I know these are in fact failures/defects in this second one. This vehicle has not experienced any recent damage or known problems, yet the last few days every time it has been started, the airbag light is remaining lit for an extended period of time before it decides to go off on the dash. It lingers and then finally goes out. It has been very rainy and humid here for an extended period and we are a state targeted for takata recall, but this vehicle is "not one" allegedly. I fear for my safety! there have also been 2 different incidents of performance failures while driving at low speeds (fortunately) where the car has completely shut down, the dash lit up with the vdc slip and other lights, no steering was available and I was stranded in traffic during rush hour. This is very dangerous. The car would not restart temporarily and I had no choice but to sit until it would restart. This was a danger to myself as well as others. This never happened in my other g with over 230,000 miles on it. The rear passenger window also decided to lower and raise itself on its own. It was taken to the dealer for this issue and the problem wouldn't replicate, of course. The 3rd brake light has been out since around 115,000 miles. Never failed on my G35x in the 230,000 miles. This is an obvious defect on this one and all the other complaints I read. An led shouldn't fail like this or all these others I read. When it's a dealer only item and costs approx. $400 to be installed ~ it should be a recall. Please investigate these issues and help us. I've had 2 . . . Here's proof. .
Car accelerated after coming to a standstill in parking bay ran over curb hit a tree. And went down an embankment. The passenger airbag deployed but the drivers side airbag did not.
Hello I purchased a 2004 infinit G35 sedan from star max in orlando FL east colonial drive ive only had it 3 days tops , first of all I left and the gas gauge isn't working or the speedometer , also my radio keeps going in and out my left window seems to go up and down when it wants too, my tire pressure lights on and my cars making a very funny roaring noise in the back. Also when I go to make turns ,my wheel just keeps turning on its own and hard to turn back straight it locks up . And I believe there may be a fuel pump issue as well ive spoken to several sales men there and complained saying I need to fix things the right way or I need a different car im paying $325 a month way out of my budget on a buy here pay here car that's not even worth it at this moment in time. Please someone help me I need to do something about this fast!.
While driving at any speed it will suddenly go into "slip " mode. The service engine, vdc off, and slip warning lights come on, the accelerator stops functioning and the engine coasts. This is extremely dangerous in traffic. There is an active campaign that I have included below on the same vehichles the previous year and some from 2004. When I contacted Infiniti multiple times about my vehicle with the same problem they refused to include my car. Summary: on certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process. Consequence: this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash. Remedy: dealers will replace the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01v357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification began on December 22, 2003. Owners should contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200. Notes: Nissan recall no. R3022/Infiniti recall no. R3021. Customers can also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
I was on the side of a mountain road when suddenly the car started shaking and I lost engine power as well as power steering. All engine lights turned on. I looked this up, and it seems like many people have had this problem so there was recall on the Infiniti G35 sedan, but interestingly not on the coupe. The recall is regarding the camshaft positioning sensor. I had my car towed afterwards to my mechanic and he verified the problem was this sensor as well. This car failure was very sudden and extremely dangerous.
2/16/11 Infiniti G35 (2004) put into drive and car would not accelerate above 10 miles per hour, drove 14 miles at that speed. Next morning drove to repair shop, not Infiniti dealer, and showed problem as code #p2128app sensor 2 circuit and #p2138app sensor> performed learn procedudre for computer. Car was then able to drive at normal speeds.
I experienced 'sudden' or 'unintended' acceleration with my 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe twice in the last 3 months. The first time, in February or early March, my wife and I were at an intersection waiting for the left turn light. The car was stopped. All of a sudden the car's motor began to rev up. I pressed firmly on the brake so the car wouldn't move and shifted into neutral (it's an automatic). The car revved up alarmingly. I shut off the ignition. When the light changed, I restarted the car; all was normal. We continued on home. The only reason I didn't run into the person in front of me was because my foot was firmly on the brake. On April 3, 2007, I was backing into a parking space. The care was drifting at idle in reverse and my foot was on the brake. Again, the engine began to race and I hit the car behind me -- not very hard because it was very close. My foot was definitely not on the accelerator when this happened. The next day I took the car to Infiniti. Three weeks later they say they can find nothing wrong. Because this has happened twice in 3 months, I consider the car unsafe to drive; Infiniti agrees. I've left the car with the dealer and am waiting to see if they'll buy it back from me or, at least, give me something on a trade-in for a 2008 g37 coupe. At this point, we're out $36,000. Some people may continue to drive their cars in spite of this problem and hope, because it's intermittent, that the car won't kill someone or cause a terrible accident. I don't feel I can take that chance so I gave up on the car.
I experienced 'sudden' or 'unintended' acceleration with my 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe twice in the last 3 months. I specifically was not pressing on the accelerator in either instance though my wife can testify in the first instance that I was not. I was alone during the second occurrence so there are no witnesses. The first time my wife and I were sitting at an intersection waiting for the left turn light. The car was stopped. All of a sudden the car's motor began to rev up. I pressed firmly on the brake so it wouldn't move and shifted into neutral (it's an automatic). The revs picked up and the tach was moving rapidly higher. I shut off the ignition. When the light changed, I turned the ignition on and all was normal. We continued on home. The only reason I didn't run into the person in front of me was because my foot was firmly on the brake. This happened in February or early March. On April 3, 2007 I was backing into a parking space. The car was in reverse and my foot was slightly on the brake moving from the accelerator to the brake and back again. Again, the engine began to race and I hit the car behind me -- not very hard because it was very close. My foot wasn't on the accelerator when this happened. The next day I took the car to Infiniti. Three weeks later they can find nothing wrong. Because this has happened twice in three months, the car's unsafe to drive and Infiniti agrees. I've left the car with the dealer and am waiting to see if they'll buy it back from me or, at least, give me something on a trade-in for a 2008 g37 coupe. At this time, we're out $36,000. Some people will continue to drive their cars with this problem and hope, as it's intermittent, that it doesn't kill someone or cause a terrible accident, I don't feel I can take that chance so, thus, I gave the car back.
Unexplainable/unexpected revving of my engine occurred at a stop light while my foot was on the brake. The engine revved up 5k rpm. No apparent reason for this to occur. Normal route taken from work involves stop and go traffic with multiple stop lights. About 5 miles into journey home, engine revved at the light. Averted damage by placing vehicle in park and turning ignition off. Car has peformed normal since incident 2 weeks ago.
