Eight problems related to brake light on have been reported for the 2005 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The high , center mounted, third brake light either fails to activate when the brake pedal is depressed, or it lights very dimly.
3rd brake light works intermittently.
Third-brake light intermittently works and goes out. Does not work 80% of the time.
The third brake light on many G35 vehicles from 2003 - 2007 does not work - there is an issue with the circuitry on the third brake light that sits behind the window, up above the trunk. This is a clear safety issue and should be addressed by the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan. The contact stated that the third mount brake light would no longer illuminate when the brakes were engaged. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,500.
I drive a 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan. My 3rd brake light has now been off and on for about 3 weeks now. I have read that many other people who drive the same car as me are having the same problem and have addresses the issue to you. I am very shocked that something has not been done yet. I drive in rush hour traffic most of the day and fear that since my brake light does not come on I will get hit. It seems that this is a technical issue. It is very frustrating to know I could be in a fatal accident just because of a light not working. I have notified Nissan and Infiniti but have not heard back.
Rear window brake light malfunction, this is a known and repeatable issue with many G35 sedans years 2003-2006. The rear window brake light stops working intermittently, or works in varying degrees of brightness, with no consistency, rhyme or reason. Unable to get the light to remain on consistently, and given the feedback in online forums, etc - this is an apparent problem with the light installation, etc.
Recently I have been noticing my 3rd brake light works when it wants to. If I had to say it probably works 4 out of 10 times you hit the brake pedal. This is an extremely very important issue. State of pennsylvania it is mandatory to have 3 brake lights. Right now, I have 2 working ones and 1 that is undecided when it wants to work. I do not have the VIN handy right now, as I am at work.
