Five problems related to air bag not deploy have been reported for the 2006 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My car was involved in a accident where the front end crumpled but the airbags did not deploy. My daughter was the driver and she was traveling down a 6 lane highway at 30 miles an hour when a van coming out of a median crossed in front of her. She ended up "t" boning the van.
"takata recall" - when starting and driving the car, the seat belt/air bag light flashes consistently. This has been going on for more than a week. I took it to the Infiniti dealer on 7/2 and had a diagnostic performed at which time I was told it had to do with a previous recall and they were able to reset it. However when I started the car, the flashing light indicator for the seat belt/air bag came on again. I brought it to the dealer's attention and another diagnostic was performed and I was advised that I needed a new airbag and that I would be responsible for the charge. The airbag was never deployed, so I do not understand why I would be responsible for replacing or absorbing the cost. I need to know if this issue is associated to the takata recall and asked that you investigate and let us know if there is a recall for this vehicle. I am very concerned, worried and uncomfortable driving the car in this condition. Eagerly await your response on next step needed to rectify this issue.
I was almost a complete stop when I was rear ended. The impact was pretty hard, and the vehicle was ultimately a total loss. At the time of collision, my drivers side seat collapsed back on me almost to a full recline position. Due to this, my seat belt was completely loose, and felt as if I did not have one on. I slid down, and and my ankles were bruised on top, and my baseball cap flew off into the back seat. Also, the airbag did not deploy.
My car falls under this recall. . . Yet when I take it to the dealership, or look on line on their site. They will not honor the recall- will not fix my car!! what can I do about it? how can I get my car fixed. Below is 1 of 100 articles about it on the internet: Nissan is recalling 134,000 Infiniti G35 vehicles due to a defect in their airbag systems that could cause the safety feature not to deploy in an accident. The recall affects 2005 to 2006 models of the Infiniti G35 sedan and 2005 to 2007 models of the G35 coupe. According to the national highway traffic safety administration: “the wire harness connecting the belt tension sensor (bts) and the occupant detection sensor (ods) control unit under the front passenger seat can experience relative movement which can cause wear and oxidization of the terminals and may cause interruption of the signal. ” in other words, “the air bag may not deploy and could increase the risk of an injury,” explains the detroit news. “the automaker has not yet notified the feds of how the faulty wire harnesses will be fixed, but the official recall is now being announced, just two weeks after the potential problem was reported to NHTSA,” writes autoblog. Still, the detroit free press reports that Nissan spokesman colin price “said if a vehicle’s red air bag warning light had turned on, the owner can bring their car into their dealer for repair. ” some 2007 and 2008 G35 and g37 models have already been through a similar recall. Systems that detect whether a passenger is present in the front passenger’s seat and turn the relevant airbags on or off have proven problematic for several automakers. BMW and Hyundai have issued similar recalls for the same system in recent years. Owners with questions should contact the national highway traffic safety administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
The contact owns a 2006 Infiniti G35. While driving at 35 mph, another vehicle swerved and crashed into the contact?s vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered neck and body injuries. A police report was filed. The contact had not called the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
