Infiniti G35 owners have reported 1 problem related to power steering fluid (under the steering category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
During my evening drive home on a local highway / toll road I smelled a strong pungent burnt oil smell thru the air vents. As I was at the end of my commute I parked the car and noted oil dripping from the right front area of the car. After it cooled off I traced the leak to a power steering line up high at the bulkhead. I pulled the outer chafe guard back and additional power steering fluid poured out onto the ground. The right side bulkhead area was soaked in power steering fluid. The entire area was bathed in fluid however the outer chafe guard on the hose acted as a barrier to prevent the hose from spraying potentially combustible power steering fluid onto the rear bank exhaust manifold. The next day I replaced the hose. I have retained the old hose if needed for inspection. It appears to be leaking at the metal crimp. This sounds just like the Acura and Honda issue. This vehicle is a one owner vehicle, manufactured November 2001 and purchased new March 2003. The vehicle has never had collision damage, is very clean and well cared for. It is driven as a daily commuter vehicle.
