Air Bag Light On problems of the 2012 Infiniti G37

Sitting in driveway I started the car and side airbag light came on for no reason. I have spoken to multiple people and they all seem to have this issue with this vehicle. This should be a recall fix as it puts people in danger.

G37 2012� Infiniti journey coupe. VIN. # jn1cv6ek6cm422107 my air bag light on my dash board, indicated that my passenger side air bag has been disabled. Check if there's a fix! ,,,,it was suggested that it must be brought back to the dealer to check out! service chg. $150. If it must be repaired the cost to repair the issue. . . A chg. To repair & replace the controller & front passenger seat would be in excess of $6,000. I've checked on line complaints & many owners have experienced the same issue!. . . To no avail! safety should be the issue, especially for the ongoing problems with �faulty air bags� causing some very serious accidents? might be a takata air bag issue? can you help. 2012 Infiniti G37 35000 miles. Displays flashing passenger airbag light whenever the ignition is on, and the "passenger airbag off" light illuminates continuously even with adult in passenger seat. Local Infiniti dealer troubleshot and indicated that to fix the bad passenger seat sensor the entire seat would require replacement at a cost of $8k. I appealed directly to Infiniti consumer affairs; they declined to offer any assistance as the vehicle was beyond the warranty time period. This is a design flaw--customers should not be faced with the choice of either bearing the extreme cost of poor engineering or putting passengers at risk.

Passenger airbag light blinks. Took car to dealer and they said the seat bottom needs replacing as it is an occupancy sensor failure. Cost for part is $6500. 00. Cost to install and reset is $500. That repair is half the value of what it is worth. I called infinity�not under warranty or recall. Have read online that multiple owners of these models are having same issue. I feel that this is a potential safety-related defect in the vehicle.

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Infiniti G37x. The contact stated that the passenger air bag light continuously illuminated as being off with a passenger in the seat. This failure has continued to occur over a period of two years. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the there is a flaw in the sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000. Rg.
