1 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 12/07/2020

On the sunny and dry morning of December 9, 2020, I proceeded to alpine cemetery, perth amboy, NJ to honor my mother's grave site and her anniversary. As I passed the gate entrance to the cemetery, I turned right; as I have always done in previous years. Once I turned to the right I noticed that there was a burial procession, with the funeral hearse obstructing the entire vehicle path. Since I could not drive forward, the only recourse I had was to turn around and find another vehicle path. Once I had taken the new path, which I believe would lead me to my mother's grave site, I realized that I could not reach her grave site since it was further up the new path. Once I turned the vehicle to the left; the vehicle went automatically backwards then forwards with the sensation of taking off the ground like an airplane. I had no control of the vehicle and the vehicle proceeded automatically hitting numerous tomb stones until one tomb stone stopped the vehicle. This failure occurred numerous times until a 3ft tomb stone stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the car repair shop, instructed by njm insurance; vnf auto body 732-321-6919, 20 prospect street, metuchen NJ 08840.

5 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 02/04/2018

The passenger side rear parking brake cable has seized. It will not allow the actuator to move. It has destroyed the brake shoe lining on that side.

6 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

The parking brake cable, as set from the factory, is way too loose to hold the car on even a slight incline. The parking brake handle takes excessive force to pull far enough to hold the vehicle from rolling. The dealer refuses to adjust the cable tension under warranty stating it is not covered. This is my second 2013 G37 with this issue.

7 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

I was in a parking lot. I backed out when I started to shift into drive the car accelerated and started to spin in circles. The steering wheel locked. I was not in control of the car and nothing would worked in the car. I couldn't shift gears so I shoved it into park. The car finally stopped but not before it hit an island causing $7822 in damages to the rear of the car. The air bags did not deploy. I was quite shaken up but had no serious injury. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was contacted at the local and regional levels. They had someone look at the vehicle but after 7 weeks they still have not contacted me with their findings. I am not driving the vehicle and I have not had it repaired. I fear that if I have it repaired and I sell the vehicle, it is an unsafe car and someone else will get hurt. I have found several reports of similar occurrences on the internet.

11 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 02/19/2012

This has been happening on multiple occasions. Whenever I am driving and I try to stop, sometimes the engine increases while braking. It has happened about 4 times near a stop sign when I am driving 20mph, and in the highway driving 55-60mph. This is a serious issue and can cause an accident. I am taking it to the dealership on Wednesday so they can either issue a lemon or fix the issue. I am very unhappy with this problem. I searched online and some people have been having the same issue and dealers telling them "there is nothing wrong".

12 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 09/30/2011

On 9/30/2011 I was driving at approximately 10 mph through our high school parking lot. My space is directly aligned with a speed bump. I slowed dramatically for the speed bump at the same time I made the turn to enter my parking space. The car responded incorrectly to the brakes, which had happened to me once before. The car surged forward, over a sidewalk, down an embankment and into a wall. The first time the car surged forward like that was in 2008 and the service department told me there was nothing wrong. This time, the crash caused irreparable damage and my car was totaled.

The car bounced backwards and lurched forward again and stuck the truck a second time and bounced backwards again. The ( off button) was able to be pushed at that time. The brake was fully applied the entire time. This has been the only occurrence. Infinity has not been able to duplicate problem and has downloaded the data base. The formal report will take approx. 4 weeks to complete. No parts have been replaced. Infinities consumer's affair has told us to pickup the vehicle and drive the vehicle despite no explanation or written proof the vehicle is safe to drive. The problem is related to either braking, acceleration or both.

19 Service Brakes problem of the 2009 Infiniti G37

Failure Date: 03/10/2010

2009 Infiniti G37x coupe is experiencing dangerous surges in acceleration upon braking, the transmission is jerking and going into "fail safe mode" (meaning suddenly the car is stuck in the highest gear), the rear differential is clunking and jerking as if the car is going into awd mode at times it should not be, and quite frankly I am now becoming scared of the car. It has 3800 miles on it. I took it into the dealership on Friday and was told there are a couple of known issues with the transmission but no fix. They also are calling hq on Monday to talk about it. I do not want to leave my car to be driven around erratically as they try to "break" it as that will cause further damage to the transmission and engine as well as put more miles on the car. Infiniti service agreed that remapping the computer would most likely take away the specifications of the car which are what they market and I bought the car for (horsepower, acceleration, "same as a BMW". If they have to gut the power of the car to fix the problem, I feel this is false advertising and the car is not what I contracted to purchase. I am on the verge of watching my resale plunge before the car is even six months old and believe Infiniti should have to replace the vehicle. This problem is happening repeatedly everytime I drive the car. See notes below: 1. Central computer clearly failing - had to be restored yesterday. 2. Reaf diff clunking in and out of awd loudly and with a jerk and at unexpected times 3. Surging rpms as much as 5000 upon driving 4. Surging rpms and acceleration upon braking (3000 rpm) 5. Hanging instead of downshifting 6. Very jerky downshifts 7. Tranny went into failsafe at least 3 times now (meaning no gear below 5th is available at any time).

20 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Infiniti G37
