Takata recall for front suspension transverse link. I think this vehicle belongs in the list and of the I30t 2001 Infiniti and so does the mechanic that inspected the vehicle.

Takers recall wheel jerks to either right or left and causes care to jerk to either side I was going 55 to 60 miles per hour and it almost threw me completely off the road and another time it jerked me towards a car coming head on at me.
Drive to gas station a mile away was a dangerous experience, the issue I thought was a tire blown out has been inspected by local police officer upon occurrence and determined it is suspension defect. Right rear axle is where the loud grinding started.

I took my well-maintained, garaged 1999 Infiniti I30 to the mechanic after noticing the handling getting sloppy and severe inner tire wear. Upon inspection, he informed me that the front core support (the box beam frame member that extends the width of the car and supports the radiator) was rusted through. The corrosion is severe to the point that the sides of the beam are eaten away over 1/3 to 1/2 the length. In places, all that is left supporting the radiator is the top plate. The center support bar that holds the front end of the motor in place is supposed to be bolted to the bottom of the beam, but because of the corrosion, it is now hanging cantilevered. The car is not safe to drive with the motor inadequately supported. Relative to the rest of the car, the severe corrosion is localized to a 2-3 foot section of the frame (as if there is something causing the corrosion to accelerate in this particular area). Properly manufactured structural steel should not disintegrate like this.

The passenger front tire blew, the car then locked up, the steering wheel locked up, the car sped out of control (police estimated up to 70 miles per hour), the car ran into a brick building. The air bags did not deploy! I woke up surrounded by a crowd of people. Although, I pressed the brakes to the floor, and there were black marks on the parking lot leading up to the car inside the brick building, the car continued to accelerate, out of control.
These tires hit hard on bumps. Also when breaking tires do not stop correctly the track light comes on in the car. Every week I have to put air in them also I notice when going at a speed over 55 you can feel vibrations on steering wheel. I am tired of worrying everyday to put air in the tires so I don't get stuck now I have to go and buy new tires I just think that cooper tires should reimburse people for the cost.
The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti I30. The contact heard a popping noise coming from the vehicle while in motion. Also, the steering wheel was resistant to engagement. When turning right, the steering wheel would turn left and when attempting to turn left, the steering wheel would turn to the right. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The contact inspected the vehicle and concluded that the transverse link failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. No repairs were performed. The current mileage was 161,382 and the failure mileage was unknown.
