October 3rd 2013 I was coming back from lunch driving back to work. While I was on the road driving my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road with cars still behind me. I was almost rear ended that day as I did not expect my vehicle to turn off while driving. I got the vehicle towed on October 3rd 2013 to r&s here in charlotte north carolina. The mechanic called me Saturday October 5th 2013 and told that my crankshaft position sensor was what went out while I was driving. The mechanic also informed me that my car make model and year has recalls on crankshaft, camshaft and timing variable. I also checked myself and this information was true. Online recalls for year were engine and cooling and airbags. I got my car from carmax 2009 and never was informed of the recalls so that I could get the issue resolved. My car had one owner before I purchased the car from carmax. I called the Infiniti toll-free consumer line and they did nothing but say its vehicle specific and that they seen nothing for my VIN number. My VIN should have been in a recall as I still have the same issues for recalls that never got fixed on my 2003 Infiniti I35 and my crankshaft, camshaft and timing variable caused my vehicle to stall and turn off in the middle of the road. I want this resolved.
My daughter was stopped at a red light. The car stalled and had to be pushed from the intersection. It started several minutes later. The car has stalled on me several times prior to this when the car has come to a stop and sometimes when in motion. I took it to my mechanic and he informed me of an infinity recall. I went to the dealer and they said my car was not part of the recall. I called infinity hq and they said the same thing. It's amazing that I have the exact problem so may cars were recalled for but they insist my car is not part of the recall. I now see many other I35 owners have the same problem I do. I will have to have my mechanic fix it since infinity is taking no responsibility!.
