I have had two transmissions in this 2002 Infiniti I35 and now may have to have the third. Summer of 2011 I experienced intermittent issues with the engine racing and the transmission apparently disengaging, with no power to the wheels. First time I took it to the dealer they couldn't detect any problems as there was no service engine soon warning on the dash board so their computer couldn't detect a problem. Happened again and the technician told me not to turn the ignition off when I got to the shop but to let the engine keep running. He drove the car back to the shop and hooked it up to the computer. The problem was diagnosed as the torque converter clutch function code along with p0720 and p1574, check engine light concer – ip006, (failing), and I was told I had to have both a torque converter and a transmission. The price for a new one was too high and I opted for a used torque converter/transmission and now, 5/2/2012, less than a year later I am having the same problem as before. Several times this loss of power to the wheels has happened when pulling into traffic and is extremely dangerous. Another issue is the suspension and steering. I have had to replace the struts because the front end would vibrate veer left and right and lose some control over the steering when driving over rough pavement. Even after strut replacement the issue still persists. August of 2011 around the same time transmission was replaced I had to replace the radiator which burst at a seam. It was replaced before the transmission and at a different shop, and not at the dealer's shop.

There have been several attempts about six or seven to repair, straighten align this car to no avail. This and others if left unrepaired will be causing a lot of accidents.

Vehicle will pull to either right or left when driving at any speed. Vehicle becomes more difficult to control. Dealer said all front wheel drives pull to one side or another like that. Consumer states vehicle is experiencing front end shaking, rattling, stepping, and vibrating, steering wheel pulls and making noise while accelerating and making u-turns, right side tire stepping and vibrating, seat memory buttons inoperative, dash display changes by itself from dte to mpg and computer displays 80 miles to go when the tank is empty, engine shakes and vibrates during a cold start, vehicle idles rough when cold and is still present after vehicle is warmed up, vibration/rattling noise from windows at freeway speed and no longer raise up when depressing remote button, vehicle hesitates when pushing on gas pedal, and when in reverse, the gear shakes.
Front end pulls dangerously & powerful to one side or another, front end play freely and uncontrollable. Door locks automatically with my keys in car, front dash electrical jumps around, when I press the gas pedal nothing happens. ***dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis****760753.
I have an Infiniti I35 that has a vibration problem. Infiniti has attempted to fix this 5 times over the last year. I had the same problem in an i30 that I received as a loaner car from my delaership. I've also been told by a friend that he heard of a person with the same problem. During a conversation with Infiniti consumer affairs I was told that this was a known issue and that it is dealt with on a case by case basis. The service manager at the dealership stated that he knew this was a problem also.
The vehicle experienced the following:the engine shaked, and was noisy, front end shaked and pulled, the door locked by itself when it was slammed, the acceleration pedal did nothing when driven in high speeds, the clock knob was inoperative, front dash had electrical problems, gas mileage was abnormal, cd player was inoperative, and there was a rattle noise inside of the vehicle. The consumer had loss control of the vehicle due to the front end problems, there was excessive play, when going over bumps, the dealer stated the vehicle was normal. Scc.
