While driving on the freeway, the vehicle's driver assistance system suddenly became unavailable. Although the car was still able to move, the transmission would not shift gears. The engine rpms rose unusually high — when applying pressure to the gas pedal, the rpms could reach 4,000 to 5,000, but the vehicle accelerated very slowly. I could only maintain a speed of around 50–60 mph. It felt like the transmission was stuck in one gear and the power was not being properly delivered to the wheels. This limited acceleration and loss of responsiveness created a significant safety concern on the freeway. The following day, the check engine light turned on. I took the vehicle to autozone for a diagnostic scan, which returned multiple fault codes: p0840 (transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch a circuit), p0715 (input/turbine speed sensor a), and p0746 (pressure control solenoid a performance or stuck off). After researching the issue, I found that many other Infiniti Jx35 owners have reported similar failures involving the cvt transmission. This appears to be a recurring defect that significantly affects drivability and safety. The repair estimate I received is over $4,000, and the vehicle remains in a compromised condition. I am reporting this as a safety concern involving powertrain failure, elevated engine stress, and loss of acceleration control.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti Jx35. The contact stated that the engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the transmission fluttered and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the transmission fluttered and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.
My vehicle started jerking and would not gain speed while in traffic while I was dropping my children off at school. I took it an Infiniti dealer to learn that there is transmission failure.
When I accelerate the car, its feels like the transmission shudders. Feels like I am driving over rubble. Dont know if this is what they call gear slipping or transmission slipping. Happens in eco and standard mode, have not tried it in sport mode. Abbas rizvi.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti Jx35. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated with the check engine warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The contact stated that she pulled over and waited for a few minutes before restarting the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where they were unable to provide an official diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I have complete transmission failure on my Jx35 infinity, and the VIN number is not listed. Nissan and infinity are aware of this issue, but in my opinion, is not covering additional vehicles to save money. I had the vehicle in the shop more than 3 times after purchasing it used from infinity in 2015 within 3 months time. Apparently, this was just the beginning of the issue which I am now left with. The recall needs to be extended to cover additional VIN numbers that are not listed.
At 106,000 miles, our 2013 jx 35 was diagnosed with transmission failure by the dealer and a private car repair shop. Found that there is a service campaign dated 4/18 addressing this issue for 2013 Jx35 vehicles. Ours meets all requirements except for VIN. We believe our VIN is one of the affected vehicles.
Broken o-ring seal between transfer case and cvt assembly - transmission fluid leaking from transfer case seal - this came up after 5years of the car - Jx35 was the firs model and has multiple defects and I believe this is one of them as we do not see issues with transmission this came up at service check.
Was accelerating after making a turn, car refused to accelerate. Actual speed of car ~15mph odometer reported 40mph, 5 seconds later odometer jumped from 40mph - 60mph car is going about ~30mph. The car is making extremely loud transmission noises but not accelerating the gas pedal is to the floor. This is an ongoing issue with the car refusing to accelerate intermittently.
The problem: affected vehicles may exhibit a shudder or vibration while in gear. This may be due to a faulty continously variable automatic transmission, drivechain or valve body inside the transmission. Vehicles affected by this service campaign: 2013 Infiniti Jx35 2014 Infiniti qx60 2015 Infiniti qx60 I’ve dealt with infinity hundreds of times. They even had a mechanic take the car home and he experienced the same thing. Still nothing been done. You can google the problem and no one has got it fixed. As soon as your warranty ends then they say you need a new transmission. I’m still under warranty I’m at 90,000 miles , as it gets closer to hundred thousand miles. I’m sure then there going to say I’m going to need a new transmission. The problem if I need to cross the street and a car if coming at a distance my car flutters to cross the street almost wrecking several times.
A couple of months after driving my 2013 Jx35 I began experiencing a shudder/shaking in my vehicle when driving in the 15 to 25 mph range. The entire car shakes severely. It happen when trying to maintain speed in the range of 15 to 25 mph. This is a range commonly driven in school zones, neighborhoods and freeway traffic during rush hour. Therefore, this problem is frequent. There is a feeling that I will lose control of the car while driving. I believe it is getting worse with time. The Infiniti dealership where I purchased the vehicle initially denied the complaints and stated it was normal for the car to perform this way. I had to enlist infinity USA to get this problem addressed. The dealership completed repairs and stated the condition was remedied. It was not. The car continues to operate with a shudder in that speed range and now while turning corners.
After about 3000 miles, I began to experience a "bucking" of the car at very low speed in traffic (~10-15mph). Experienced a loss of power and would have to stomp on the accelerator to get the vehicle to accelerate. This began to occur regularly until I decided to take the vehicle in as part of the first service. I was informed that the transmission would have to be replaced and that I would have to wait for the part to arrive and that this was a known service bulletin. My dealer has been very accommodating however it is very unnerving to have to replace a transmission just 5000 miles into the life of a vehicle. I am actively exploring options to address the financial liability that I now have as part of the purchase of this vehicle.
