1 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 11/27/2024

The subframe on this car has severely deteriorated causing it to be unsafe to drive. Had 2 individual repair shops to inspect and they both shops said it is too dangerous to drive. This car was bought new and one family owned. The car has 130,000 miles and is in pristine shape. We have been driving car until we heard a noise in rear of car and immediately had it inspected. How many other lives could be in danger because of this issue. Have reported this to Nissan and exoculated it, they have no interest in seeing this car and the potential for it causing fatal accidents without individuals being aware of the dangerous subframe.

4 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

I own a 2013 Infiniti Jx35 and the transmission failed on 1 July 2022. It was replaced by aamco in irondale alabama on the 8th of July. The transmission promptly failed on the way back to SC. During the failure, the fcw and bci malfunction warning lights came on and the vehicle shuddered and loss power while I was on the highway. The check engine light also came on. I am now hearing that this is a common problem with the 2013 Jx35 and the 2014-15 qx60 suvs. Had I known about this issue, I never would have purchased this death trap. I have made a subsequent trip to the aamco here in columbia, SC and they reset or cleared the codes and as soon as I got on the road to head home, they came right back and I loss power and the vehicle began to shudder again.

5 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 05/29/2022

The car suddenly started jerking and stopped moving. After it was switched off and back on, it started to move again but the same issue happened again. After having the care towed to the dealership, I was informed that the transmission was bad an needed to be replaced. I had only ever taken the car to be serviced by the dealer and never was I informed that the transmission had any issues. After careful research, I found out that this was a common issue with this particular vehicle and several complaints had been lodged with the manufacturer, and there is even an active class action suit against them regarding the cvt transmission.

6 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 05/11/2022

The vehicle components OCS modules and sensors are failed. They have been inspected by bob moore dealer in okc, ok and with their repair shop currently waiting for recall approval. There is a warning signal on dash board of airbag displaying off when a passenger is sitting on front passenger side. It does not sensor anyone in seat. Their are several campaigns out on Jx35 but say it has expired. However, the campaigns described my current safety issue I'm having with my Jx35 2013 vehicle. They dealer need a current approval/ campaign to cover my repair cost of$785. 24.

7 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 05/03/2022

No warning lights etc prior to the issue. The vehicle slowed down and sped up on its own. The vehicle would randomly slow down when you were trying to speed up and speed up when you were trying to slow down. The vehicle would change out of gears. The vehicle changed gears in traffic - transmission failure and catalytic converter failure safety - the vehicle slowed and sped up on its own in traffic- transmission catalytic converter -could have received carbon monoxide poisoning the issue first appeared in April -may 2022 the vehicle has been inspected by nalley Infiniti. The dealership confirmed that this is a well-known issue with this model vehicle but no official recall has been issued. They there were no warning signs of the vehicle having issues. The vehicle had just been in for service and has only been serviced by this Infiniti dealership during my ownership of the vehicle.

8 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

Transmission cvt just shudder, shakes. Feels like it’s not going to the right gear from full stop to going forward.

9 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 12/16/2021

Like most of the issues everyone has been speaking to, we noticed that the transmission started to have a "shudder" looping at lower rpm/speeds. The vehicle had just over 106k miles on it luckily the vehicle had an extended warranty on it and the warranty covered the cost to replace it with a reman. Transmission. I fully agree with everyone else, if this is a known issue for multiple year and cross over models, Nissan/Infiniti needs to make it right. These cvt transmissions are known to have problems and are costly to repair.

10 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 08/28/2021

When I purchased the car no warning lights or problems were wrong with it it drove fine. The same day I got it home which is an hour away, the check engine light came on so I called them back. I took car back to shop and told them the code said it was the converter they said that was not right and it was just bad gas put in it so they reset engine light. As soon as I got back home the engine light came back on and then all the power locks on the doors stopped working. I took it to meinieke in greenville in which they said my converter went bad and that is why the engine light was on. Then they said it must have been in water because it was severe rust underneath the hood. And it effected electrical system. However, none of this information was on the car fax report. No flood damage, no repairs etc. Also none of this was occurring.

11 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 04/20/2021

When I was driving on the highway the vehicle jerked and been to lose speed without warning. This was very scary. I'm in the vehicle with my family going the speed limit and all of the sudden the speed drops no matter how much you push the gas pedal. We could have lost our lives and lives of others. This is beyond a safety issue.

12 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 05/22/2020

The car suddenly out of nowhere while driving started to studder and stall. While on street and highway no matter the speed without warning other then a smooth even ride and sound to sounding like a motorcycle feeling like it shifted into low and stalling.

13 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 02/26/2020

Today I had the ultimate scare. I was driving down the freeway when my seat belts locked and my truck hit the emergency brakes. No one was in front of me but there was a 18 wheeler behind me. He swerved to avoid hitting me from the back. I completely went into a anxiety attack and had to pull over once the car released the brakes which only lasted a minute. I called for help because I couldn't breathe and could not drive. I could have lost my life today all behind a dumb vehicle that suppose to keep me from crashing. It's been park and I refuse to drive it. Thankful my kids were not in the car yet.

14 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 02/14/2020

While driving, the car suddenly started shuddering and making a loud grinding sound. We were in the fast lane amd the car slowed quickly. We were able to pull off the road, where the car stopped moving. We had to wait for a tow. Upon researching I found that there is a known issue with Jx35 2013 transmissions, I prayed we were eligible for it. I took it to the dealer where they diagnosed it as a internal cvt transmission fail. The entire transmission needs to be replaced, a $5249. 42 cents fix. A fix that I will have to take a loan out for. I called Infiniti corporate to find out why my car was not eligible for the known cvt transmission replacement. . . They said it was by VIN number. Having my car suddenly shut down while in a fast moving lane was scary and I would like an investigation as to why Infiniti is not fixing their cvt transmission issues instead of passing it on to their customers.

15 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 12/02/2019

Car starts to shudder and shake, while trying to accelerate. This is a transmission issue.

16 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 09/14/2019

I purchased a used 2013 Infiniti Jx35 in Aug of 2017. We have liked the car and had no issues. This weekend, while driving my wife and 3 girls on the highway, when I went to accelerate, the car would not shift gears and would not increase in speed. Both my wife and I realized something was not right, as the rpm's increased, but the vehicle did not increase in speed. Further I struggled to get up a hill and almost had to pull to the side to prevent from going backwards. I took it to a mechanic and was told that it has a failed transmission. Now, I went to the Infiniti dealership and found that one month prior to my purchase, the original transmission was replaced at 43,000 miles. Now, 2 years later at 102,000 miles, the second transmission has failed again!!!!! two transmissions in under 103,000 miles, and infinity is not willing to do anything to help out. I even offered, to pay for the labor if they would pay for the parts, and they were still unwilling. Worst consumer experience of my life. As I've researched this, I have found that the Infiniti Jx35 has a number of transmission issues, and my vehicle has 2 failed transmission.

17 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 08/26/2019

I changed the battery and replaced the battery posts also and my battery keeps dying unfortunately I don't have the money to pay Infiniti just to check and see if it's something electrical. The place where I bought my battery from tested my battery after all I did buy it new and it's good so the guy said it has to be something electrical.

18 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 04/17/2019

When turning the rubber, strange sound is heard in the front.

19 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

Without warning or any alerts my Jx35 went into catestrophic transmission failure. With less than 90,000 miles and frequent maintenance this failure is completely negligent on the part of Infiniti. There is a recall on the 2013 Jx35 regarding the transmission, which matches the failure in my vehicle but the VIN number does not match. In my opinion, Infiniti/Nissan has had recurring negligence by utilizing cvt technology without protecting consumers. Infiniti is a luxury brand that consumers are willing to spend more in order to gain a reliable vehicle. Infiniti is letting down their consumers, I will never buy a Nissan/Infiniti again.

20 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 07/17/2017

The Infiniti visors break next to wear they connect to the car roof. This results in visors that won't stay up and impair the driver's vision. A web search demonstrated that this is a known issue for the jx and the Nissan equivalent. It appears the plastics that holds the visor is broken. Both visors have the same issue.

21 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 05/11/2016

The problem: affected vehicles may exhibit a shudder or vibration while in gear. This may be due to a faulty continously variable automatic transmission, drivechain or valve body inside the transmission. Vehicles affected by this service campaign: 2013 Infiniti Jx35 2014 Infiniti qx60 2015 Infiniti qx60 I’ve dealt with infinity hundreds of times. They even had a mechanic take the car home and he experienced the same thing. Still nothing been done. You can google the problem and no one has got it fixed. As soon as your warranty ends then they say you need a new transmission. I’m still under warranty I’m at 90,000 miles , as it gets closer to hundred thousand miles. I’m sure then there going to say I’m going to need a new transmission. The problem if I need to cross the street and a car if coming at a distance my car flutters to cross the street almost wrecking several times.

22 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 04/10/2016

Sunroof shattered while driving on the interstate.

23 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 11/22/2014

I parked in my drive-way about 9pm on sun, Nov 22, 2014. Upon exiting the car, I smelt and saw faint smoke on the passenger side of the car. I walked to that side and saw orange fire behind the fog light in the lower passenger bumper (inside where the bumper has a flat ledge). I ran in the house for a fire extinguisher and my husband and we tried to extinguish the fire several times, but it would re-ignite. When we realized we could not extinguish, we called 911 for the fire dept. We also reconnected the water hose to keep running water over the fire (the hose and pipes had already been wrapped for winter so it took a few minutes). When we returned to the car, the fire had grown and flames started to come out of the gap between the quarter-panel and hood. The water kept the fire under control under the fire dept arrived. The firemen asked if I had any recent work done on the car as they believed the fire was electrical. I then realized I had just had a synthetic oil change done and the passenger fog light replaced the week before on sat, Nov 15, 2014. The firemen mentioned there may have been excess grease left on the bulb when changed and that may be what caused the fire, but it is still unknown at this time. I have contacted the auto repair shop and my insurance and both have hired c&I specialist to try to determine the cause. In the meantime, I am submitting this complaint to see if anyone with my vehicle has had a similar issue happen to them to help determine if this is a manufacturer issue or recall issue. Any comments or research support would be greatly appreciated.

24 Equipment problem of the 2013 Infiniti JX35

Failure Date: 08/26/2013

The airbag sensor for the front passenger seat is not working well or accurately. Even with a person who is 115 lbs and 5'3" in the passenger seat, the sensor will go on and off, not committing to either activating the airbags or not. The sensor is not consistent and it is extremely concerning that passengers will not have the protection of an airbag should there be an accident. This has been going on since we first owned the car in summer of 2013. We have brought it to the attention of the dealer multiple times. They assure us all software is up to date from the manufacturer and no further action is required.
