While driving east (uphill) on I-90 from seattle toward snoqualmie pass, my car suddenly and unexpectedly veered into the adjacent lane, literally tearing/turning the steering wheel out of my hands. I pulled off the freeway to let my heart rate slow down. On my return trip, downhill, the same terrifying experience occurred, narrowly avoiding a collision with a truck. A bit of internet research revealed that this experience is called "tramlining" and that many Infiniti models/years have been reported to suffer from it. I reported my experiences to my local Infiniti dealer's service manager, but he acted baffled by the term "tramlining" and told me, "after all, you own a 45s, a sport model. " he charged me a bundle to put new tires on my car, but the tramlining problem hasn't gone away -- only my money.
