The door lock of the driver's door is stuck in the locked position and the door cannot be unlocked or opened. It will not unlock using the key fob, nor with the manual control inside the door, nor with the emergency key from outside the car. This could trap an inured driver inside the car in the event of an accident. The car has not yet been inspected by anyone. There was no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. Earlier that same day the door failed to open while in gear but did so when I shifted to park. As this car was very recently purchased by me and I am still learning about it, I failed to recognize this a symptom of an impending failure. Regardless of that warning, total failure occurred the same day. As a graduate engineer who has worked in engineering related fields for more then 50 years I can recognize that a failure mode such as this is both a health and safety hazard to occupants in the event of an accident and a design defect that should not be allowed to be sold to the general public. Thank you for any consideration you give this complaint.
Front and middle crossmember rusted out to the point they have no more structural effects issues discovered while fixing a know issue to these models : rusted out and leaking engine and transmission oils pans I had confirmation from the dealership and other independent repair shop that leaking oils pans are common for those models and can cause engine and transmission failure. For the crossmembers they are important structural components that directly affect suspension/direction and drivetrain secureness. If the plastic shrouds/cover are not taken off during inspection those issues will goes undetected until one of them reaches failure.
The hood of my vehicle is raised on the upper right side. It was a small opening but now it has gotten bigger. I'm afraid that the entire hood may come off at a high speed. I also have rust spots on the top of my car close to the sunroof. I use Infiniti of the palm beaches for all of my services and have reported both concerns and was told it was normal wear and tear. I have owned many cars and never had the problems that I've had with a vehicle.
The miles on the car were changed and trying to sell without the information aswell as the car is trying to get sold as a salvage title car without dealer license on facebook but they tempered with the miles on the car making it look like it only has 30k when in reality it was last reported to have 180k.
I was driving home on the veterans expressway in tampa traveling about 65 mph when a sound like a gunshot almost caused me to lose control as I swerved out of fear - thankfully no other vehicles were nearby. I pulled over at the next exit in a public place and discovered my sunroof class had a piece of glass missing and it looked like it was pushed upwards. I knew this is not normal and never had I had this happen in any other car I owned with a sunroof. I had very small slivers of glass inside the car which cut my fingers because they were not visible, along with the tempered glass. Since it was going to rain, I drove home and put in garage to avoid water damage. I called the dealership in sarasota and they stated this was reported by another customer in recent months. There was no warning there was a problem with my sunroof, nothing hit it, and it had been opening and closing with no problems. I’m lucky not to have crashed. In addition, flying glass that broke free created an even more dangerous situation for other drivers - thankfully the road was empty - by the time I was able to get to a gas station closer to home, the majority of the glass was missing. I researched the problem online and discovered numerous reports online suggesting this is a frequent problem with Nissan/Infiniti - apparently there is already a class action suit, but not for my model. Please investigate this dangerous problem immediately and ask Infiniti to inspect and issue recalls on their sunroofs. Unfortunately I believe they know a problem exists and have not issued a recall for the safety of their consumers. The cost to repair is in the thousands and I am without a car plus there are glass shards inside my car. **I tried to upload pictures but wasn’t able to do it from my phone - I have multiple pictures to share.
The sunroof leaks when it rains creating water inside the interior that holds standing water. It has caused issues with mold which my son it highly allergic to. This issue seems to be a common defect in sunroofs for Infiniti. I've had it repaired, but the problem persists. I have to park it in the garage but I'm not able to when I'm at work.
Rm collision forged my signature to cash out 20'000$ and did not fix my car. My car was stolen June 15, 2019.
As I was parking the vehicle at 5mph behind a parked car, with the front tires slightly turned to the left, the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle suddenly accelerated but the vehicle failed to stop. Resulting in hitting the vehicle in front and pushing it out of the way, the vehicle continued moving despite having the brake pedal depressed to the limit, the engine was revving very high. The vehicle crossed the median and came to a stop on the opposite travel lane of the street after the engine went to idle speed. The dealer suggested to contact Infiniti USA to start an investigation(tba), a police report was filed. Collision avoidance/auto brake did not engage. Video with sound of the incident is available upon request.
The window regulator assembly is defective on a variety of Infiniti Q50 models. This is a very common complaint and some dealers are aware of it. This is more frequent on the driver's side from what has been posted online. This initially presents itself as a rattle which can be heard during bass notes with a frequency of 50-100hz. ~70hz from my test. The window basically gets off the track and this can cause a safety issue if the window shatters due to a mechanical failure of the window regulator assembly which can potentially put stress on the window. Also, this can be very dangerous if the window regulator fails during a day in which the weather involves rain or snow and the driver is unable to roll up their window. I took my car to a Infiniti dealer and they stated that the manufacturer only pays them a flat rate to inspect the car so essentially it was not worth their time to inspect it.
Our 2014 Infiniti Q50 was involved in 2-car accident. Other vehicle/driver impacted driver side of 2014 Infiniti Q50 at high speed and caused considerable damage. Current damage estimate to Q50 is near $25,000. My wife, who was driving, sustained head injuries as a result of air bags that did not deploy.
