The speed sensor on car seems to have failed unexpectedly while driving over a bridge. The car would barely move and could have become a dangerous situation for multiple people had it been typical traffic. The issue seems to be that although the sensors are corrupted, the entire valve body or transmission must be replaced to solve the issue leaving the car inoperable. The car is currently at a repair shop. The engine light did come on shortly after. Please issue recall. Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2019/mc-10168892-0001. Pdf.

Failure Date: 03/30/2023

I was driving perfectly fine and I stopped at a red-light. I went to accelerate and the car wouldn't shift out of first gear and then check engine light came on. I pulled over and scanned the codes, it showed code p0500. After bringing to shop and reading thousands of different things from people who own the car online all said the same thing. Transmission valve body is shot. I almost got rear ended when I let off the gas because the engines rpms were so high casuing quick engine braking.

43 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 03/17/2023

Transmission valve body failed and is a common problem for 2014-2016 I was on a busy road and the car threw check engine light and wouldn’t accelerate any more. I risked my safety and others because I was stopped in the middle of the road and lots of commuters passing by and the vehicle was fully registered and inspected by the state prior that happened but it’s a common problem that you’ll never know when it will fail.

Infinite will not issue recall and I have reach out to corporate on the issue the repair want 8,000 to replace transmission the car is out of extended warranty that was purchase on the vehicle I’m only the second owner of the car well maintained and should not be having this issue of a self maintained transmission with a vehicle worth 25,000 wen brought.

47 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 01/20/2023

My car has 60,000 miles on it and multiple mechanics as well as the Infiniti dealership tell me it needs a new transmission. $8,000. It will not shift above 2nd gear. I took the valve body and manifold out of the transmission and was surprised to find that the output speed sensor plug is actually a dumby plug that connects to nothing. I've had cars with hundreds of thousands of miles on them still driving with the same transmission they were born with. I've rebuilt a lot of engines, but never had to replace a transmission, especially not after 60,000 miles. Any, I searched the internet and noticed that it's a very common problem with this vehicle.

48 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 08/06/2022

Valve body went out with 89k miles and had to get transmission replaced.

49 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 04/24/2022

The vehicle would not shift above 3rd gear. I was driving down interstate and got off the exit and the shifting acted up. We were able to get home but this is clearly an issue that NHTSA has identified and this should be a recall. I have copied the link below. Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2019/mc-10168892-0001. 50 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 04/12/2022

Valve body completely went out. This happens on most Infiniti’s per my transmissions specialist I took it to. He suggested I contact you.

51 Power Train problem of the 2016 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 04/08/2022

This car is being sold at nice car inc and they have erased codes from car air bags wont deploy if and accident occurs 1 turbo on car doesnt work and the car smokes runs hot the and will shut off or wont accelerate over 10 miles per hr I was not aware of this until after purchase and I had car checked out that is dangerous and hazardous they also have called using my name pretending to be me and made false insurance claims the car… I could only upload so much but a certified mechanic stated they deleted codes from vehicle and its not listed on carfax they give. They are endangering lives of americans and scamming insurance companies because the car doesnt have safety features that should work.

52 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 02/15/2022

My car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road with a check engine light. I have a p0720 & p0500 codes indicating a vehicle speed sensor & output speed sensor failed while operating . This cause my transmission to fail and not shifting. I am on my way to the dealer now . Hopefully Infiniti will do the right thing and fix it . At 56,000 miles a transmission should not fail . Unexpectedly almost causing a car collision . No prior warning was provided by the car . The car just suddenly failed . This is a very serious safety concern .

53 Power Train problem of the 2019 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 12/22/2021

While driving vehicle if you suddenly stop vehicle would stop, however when applying pressure to gas pedal vehicle would not move, if foot is left on pedal car would jerk and then proceed forward. Unlike other vehicle after breaking hard vehicle would move without hesitation.

54 Power Train problem of the 2019 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 12/18/2021

While vehicle is in “d” drive move the car would jerk likes its trying to shift/switch gears and jerk hard. It sounds like the issue would involve the transmission. Another occasion happened when I came to a complete stop, & then pressed on the gas, and the car jerks again then started to accelerate.

55 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 11/03/2021

While driving my Q50 on the highway at around 65mph my car automatically down shifted to 1st gear. It was a really hard shift, so hard I thought someone rear ended me. To down shift that quickly on the highway placed me in a very unsafe position. My car almost came to a complete stop without any notice to the vehicle behind me. Someone could have rear ended because I didn't hit my breaks. Thank god the car behind me was pretty far back, because if they had been a little closer, they would have hit me.

56 Power Train problem of the 2019 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 09/16/2021

The car sometimes turning - changing lanes - just various times the rear end will slide around - or skid. Just does it various times - does not matter if the road is wet or not. Infiniti service did not find an issue - but there is definitely an issue. No certain time so hard to pinpoint what is causing it.

57 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 06/06/2021

I was driving my Infiniti Q50 and puled up to a light. When it turned green I proceeded when I noticed my check engine light comes. It won't shift past 3rd gear. It seems to be in limp mode but there was a tractor trailer barreling down on me. So I get to 35 mph and ride the side of the road. Once I got home I did a search and apparently there are a lot of issues with this transmission. Most indicated it was the valvebody and that it could cost upward of $2,500. 00 plus there is a back order on them. This is my only car and can't have it tied up to long. I have an appointment to have it diagnosed this coming Wednesday, 06/09/2021. I can't drive it or I will burn up the transmission. If there is such a large problem I would think this would have a recall on it. My car only has 65, 624 miles on the clock. This needs to be addressed. I am hoping for a miracle when it gets diagnosed but with all the evidence out there about the bad transmission in these cars I am expecting the worse.

58 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 05/24/2021

On 5-25-2021 while merging into traffic on busy I-75. My 2015 Infiniti Q50 did not change into a higher gear as it should have causing the vehicle to not accelerate and lose power then the check engine light came on a few seconds after failure. This failure of the vehicles drive train placed my wife’s life and my life in extreme danger in which we were not able to accelerate with the flow of traffic and was nearly ran over by several semi tractor trucks. The vehicle is in the repair shop for the transmission valve body failure and replacement. I’ve looked this issue up online where numerous owners of this type vehicle have complained and described this as a common problem with these vehicles.

59 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 03/27/2021

My car pause and jerks then stops. This is the second time this has happened after being fixed. The mechanic said they had a recall on the 2016 models for this but not the 2015 but had to correct many of the 2015 models. The check engine light came on after it stopped. I was on the interstate the last time when it stopped. I am afraid that it might happen again without any warning. This is a life threatening defect that Infiniti needs to correct ASAP.

60 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 09/15/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle jerked, shifted gears, reduced speed, the odometer flashed, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the heating and air conditioning system went from cold to hot. The contact got off the nearest exit and pulled over and waited a while before continuing to drive home to park the vehicle. The contact stated that a diagnostic code reader retrieved dtc code: p0720 (output speed sensor). The contact contacted Infiniti of tampa (4600 n dale mabry hwy, tampa, FL 33614; (813) 694-1579) and was informed that the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

61 Power Train problem of the 2014 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 09/05/2020

On September 5th, I was driving my 2014 Infiniti Q50 and once it reached 2nd or 3rd gear, the transmission revved up and the car locked the tires up and threw us forward like it was slammed into a low gear. I had to tow the car home 400 miles and dropped it off at the Infiniti dealer on September 7th 2020. As of October 24th 2020, I still don't have my car back. I was informed by the parts manager at the dealership that there were over 700 valve body's on backorder. He claimed that Nissan/Infiniti was aware of the problem and was being very picky with the quality control of the new parts to insure there would be no further problems. They are quoting $2400 parts and labor to fix the car. Was advised by the parts manager to contact Infiniti customer affairs.

62 Power Train problem of the 2019 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 10/11/2019

Unintended acceleration. Pulling into a parking space in a shopping center parking lot, after going over a speed bump and making a left hand turn into the spot the car accelerated and would not stop. Pushing on the brakes did not work. Car has a system to prevent crashing in to an object in front of the car but that did not work. The car struck a pole in the parking lot doing significant damage to the right front of the car.

63 Power Train problem of the 2014 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 04/10/2019

-when braking while hybrid and engine system are attemping to determine the power draw the vehicle will propel forward increasing momentum of vehicle rather than braking. -vehicle is available for inspection. -this issue can cause collision due to the sudden undesired propulsion of the vehicle, as well as addition unnecssary use of the braking system. -dealer states this is normal condition. -vehicle has only been inspected by dealer. -there are no warning signs, indicators, or alerts. Issue first started around 35,000 miles. -in addition the drivetrain might also affect the ability to propel forward. While in slow speeds (10 mph and below) the vehicle the vehicle will stutter making take off difficult from complete stop. Additionally, vehicle stutters just the same while braking to come to a stop (10 mph and below) making it difficult to navigate a safe stop.

64 Power Train problem of the 2014 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 12/16/2016

This is an awd car purchased used 2 weeks prior to this incident. The car has only 11, 000 miles on it when this occurred. I was driving in bumper to bumper traffic in heavy snow conditions on an overpass bridge that merges onto a busy freeway. The vehicle's front wheels pulled the car to left 2-3 times at a speed of less than 5mph out of my lane but I was able to correct. While still on the overpass bridge I took my foot off brake to inch forward (still in bumper to bumper traffic) and still less than 5 miles per hr, hardly moving, the car again pulled hard to the left and pulled me into a guardrail. If there was no guardrail I would have plummeted to the freeway below. All this happened without ever pressing on the accelerator pedal as I was in very heavy traffic, so I was barely moving. I had my 17 year old daughter with me. We both said that the car acted all on its own and we both noticed that no other cars were slipping or spinning out at all. The snow had just began to fall so there wasn't too much on the road maybe 1-2 inches (estimated). There was damage to the drivers side bumper and quarter panel (which we have yet to get estimated). We took the car into the Infiniti dealership, I had them run a diagnostics on the computer. They said there was a faulty "chassis control module" that determines the power applied to the wheels and which ones. The service advisors mechanic mentioned that this "most definitely could have caused the problem we experienced". He recommended I call Infiniti's consumer affairs and file a claim. Infiniti asked the dealership to not work on the car, they sent their mechanic to investigate. The closed the case and said the car had no issues and replaced nothing and returned the car back after several weeks. The car is not safe and I am scared to drive it. Infiniti will not recognize this and won't pay for body damage or any repair.

65 Power Train problem of the 2014 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 02/27/2016

On several occasions while driving my car, it has locked up on me. I have taken the car back to the dealership three times for this same issue. The last time I took it in because my car locked up on me after coming off an highway and I was hit by another car. I took it back to Infiniti who claimed they could not duplicate this issue. Even though I pointed them to scores and scores of similar issues being reported on the internet. Infiniti's response was "anyone can write anything on the internet". I thought this comment was insensitive and downright ridiculous. Even though anyone can write anything on the internet, most people would not get on the internet to complain about a problem with their car that was not true - what would they get out of it??Infiniti's cavalier attitude has shocked me since my family have bought five Infinitis from them over the years and have never had these types of complaint. Additionally this type of issue could kill folks! is Infiniti trying to balance lives against a recall that's needed. . . . . . I am shocked and apalled!!!!!!!!!!!!.

66 Power Train problem of the 2015 Infiniti Q50

Failure Date: 08/11/2015

Valve body goes bad after a few hundred miles every time. Fluid enters the tcm causing it to go bad. The tcm could be welded back on but dealer just replaces the whole transmission.
