One problem related to axle assembly has been reported for the 1997 Infiniti QX4. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
There was a problem that I brought to the attention of my dealer. The 4-wd light continued to blink once I had traveled 20+ miles. This was never rectified. On the date of incident I was driving on a straight grooved highway and the right rear wheel axle broke, and the wheel came off, causing me to veer into the cement embankment.
