Lower control arm broke due to excessive rust/ corrosion on entire underside of vehicle. Nearly caused accident . Scared the bejesus out of us . Now afraid to drive.

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti Qx4. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speed, there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear struts and rear brackets needed to be replaced due to corrosion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they declined to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 270,000.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2019

The whole frame is rusted make a loud cracking and other noises. Afraid to drive was inspected by tire shop they would not work on it. Car has been parked in front of my daughter home.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

The SUV has been recalled for unusual rusting of the entire underside, the NHTSA said the struts may rust and break away from the body, that is happening. We called the Nissan dealer in winchester virginia, they lied and said there is no such recall.

Rear suspension bottoms out with 4 adults in vehicle.

Nothing have not happen but im noticed those things and looked up recalls and would like it fixed.

7 Suspension problem

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti Qx4. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph when a grinding noise from the front driver's side wheel was heard as the contact attempted a turn. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the driver's side strut was rusted and damaged. The contact informed the manufacturer of the defect but no remedy was offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 84,000.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti Qx4. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 11v244000 (suspension:front). An authorized dealer was notified and the contact was advised to wait until November for repairs because the necessary parts were not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 175,000.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2011

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti Qx4. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was noticed that there was severe corrosion of the frame near the strut on the driver's side. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was repaired. The contact was reimbursed. Shortly after the repair, the same failure occurred on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was corrosion on the passenger side. The vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 11v244000 (steering, suspension) but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the frame continued to corrode after the recall repair. The contact stated that the recall repair did not adequately repair the failure with the excessive corrosion. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
