Emergency brake: e-brake appears to engage on its own and the brake light indicator comes on. There's also a grinding sound when brake is pressed. Grinding sounds only occurs when this issue comes up. Exhaust manifolds: was notified by the dealer upon a service inspection that there was a small crack in the exhaust manifolds. Is this a normal thing? and should this be a recall item as it could throw off any smog check testing. In addition how about the exhaust in the cabin issue? maybe they used too thin of a metal for the manifolds.
The contact owns a 2004 Infiniti Qx56. The contact stated that exhaust fumes were emitted into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the exhaust manifold was cracked and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 130,000.
The exhaust manifolds are defective which creates noise and allows fumes to escape. Infiniti admits they are defective but they want $2,800 to $4,000 to replace them. This should be considered a safety hazard and Infiniti should replace them free of charge.
