Loud Engine Noise problems of the 2011 Infiniti QX56

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Infiniti Qx56. While driving 60 to 65 mph, the vehicle jerked and an abnormal noise was heard from the engine area. Also, the service engine indicator illuminated. The contact had to decelerate due to the noise. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but no failure code was found initially. The mechanic reset the codes, test drove the vehicle, performed a second diagnostic test, and located failure codes for the timing chain, catalytic converter, and exhaust system. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the unknown manufacturer recall for the engine timing chain and catalytic failure. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 200,500.
