Alternator/generator/regulator problems of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Qx60. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive or reverse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the installed alternator was not oem and not sufficient for retaining power to run the vehicle. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact stated that the latest failure began in January 2024. However, the vehicle had been towed several times to the independent mechanic and the dealer since the failure first started. The contact stated that the alternator was replaced in March 2024 with an aftermarket alternator; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated since replacing the alternator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 85,614.
