general problems of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

The transmission is stuttering and showing signs of failure.

Sun roof exploded.

I have an Infiniti Qx60 that has a hairbag malfunctioning for a long time now. I've taken it to be serviced by Infiniti many times. However, they could never fix it. At one point, I decided to leave it alone until the last time I took the car in to be serviced. The person who was helping me noticed that I had two children car seats in the car, so he decided to tell me that this car isn't safe to be driving with young children in it. Don't know what to do since the warranties have expired. Plus, they couldn't fix it when I had warranties on the car. I'm afraid that my family is at risk driving this car. I would love to stop driving this car before something terrible happens to my children. However, it is our only means of getting around right now.

Transmission is making a whining noise when accelerating. Also studders/jerks when trying to shift.

The car does not accelerate or accelerate with jerky motion. Occasionally, the vehicle disengaged out of drive mode and would not accelerate. There seems to be some transmission issues as the vehicles is making jerky movement upon acceleration. Almost cause accident on a turn as it could not move forward out of cross traffics!.

The transmission started kicking for no reason. Car will not stop jerking.

Sunroof exploded while driving. Glass exploded everywhere and could have hit my children in the backseat, as well as my husband and I sitting in the front. No warning signs at all.

Heard a loud noise when making a turn and steering wheel started shaking. Car became not drivable so had it towed to dealer. They said wheel was about to break off from the entire assembly. I didn't hit anything and was very scary.

Rear right door encounter actuator malfunction, door won't open from indoor, later on double check the child safety lock, which was not activated, therefore it was confirmed door actuator was malfunction.

2014 qx 60 infinity, presented problems with badly jerking, ugly scrapping noise, now transmisi�n leaks , burning smell while driving.

Car will not start unless you start it with jumper cables.

I was traveling on the interstate and heard a loud bang, like a gunshot overhead and glass fell into the cabin on myself, wife and two kids. The sunroof on our 2014 infinity Qx60 was closed, but had exploded into thousands of pieces. I observed no road debris or falling meteors that could have struck the sunroof and caused it to explode. Upon further investigation, it appears that spontaneously exploding sunroofs are an increasing problem that manufacturers and dealerships refuse to acknowledge, which is also our experience as we were forced to file an insurance claim in order to replace the sunroof.

Hi, while driving on a highway suddenly the transmission started acting weird. Sometimes sudden acceleration without giving gas, sometimes slowdown to below 40mph. I cautiously avoid couple of close accidents. I drove slow with my blinkers on to reach home. I took the car to the dealer this morning to check this out. Hopefully this should be covered by manufacturer's warranty.

Brakes shimmy-new (added 2 months ago) engine shutters and shakes when turning and driving when driving, the car engine sputters when turning the car feels like it will go off the road its shaking so badly.

The car shudder when I stepped on the accelerator. I was told by the Infiniti repairman that it was because of the transmission. Checked online and found: the vehicles Infiniti Qx60 2014 are equipped with continuously variable transmissions known as the ��jatco cvt8ht�� that were allegedly defective before they were even installed in the vehicles. Never got a phone call from inifiniti for inspection the possible problem.

I have problem with cvtransmission,shudering and jerking.

My car got front collision prevention and lane departure prevention. Recently car involved in an accident. My wife says she had this system turned on and as per witness, my wife went into other lane and hit the road sign(which was there to divert traffic). If the system were working, it would have prevented drifting to another lane and also have prevented frontal collision. My car was hit at front corner drive side so I think it must have some defect where its ignoring corners. It was local street and road were clear and no snow were on ground.

Sunroof glass spontaneously exploded n shattered into small pieces shards and glass dust without impact from anything.

I was driving on a highway and all of a sudden I hear a loud boom, as if a gun was fired right by my ear. I almost ran into another car because it startled me so. I pulled off onto a median and inspected the car. I looked at my car and when I looked at the roof, I realized that my sunroof was shattered. I was shocked! I was very fortunate to not have gotten into an accident. My son, who was with me was also very scared. He was worried about the other windows exploding. It was very frightening.

The 2014 Infiniti Qx60 shudders (or bucks) moderately to severely after re-applying the gas after cruising/rolling at 20 mph with rpm at approximately 1,000. This happens to me repeatedly (every day) because my house is at the top of the curve of hill. As I approach the driveway at the top of the hill, I cruise and then re-apply the gas to drive up the driveway. The car shudders (bucks) as I drive up the driveway. If I "gas" it and get the rpms up, it stops. I bought this car used (1 year old) at 14,700 miles on 11/1/14. The day I drove it home, the scenario occurred. I have called the dealer. They upgraded the transmission software, but is still occurring. I will call the dealer again.

When taking off from a dead stop sometimes the vehicle pauses and moves very slowly enough to get you in the front of on coming vehicals, and then will not exceed over 10 to 12 mph which takes up to 30 to 45 sec. Or more. I narrowly escaped a simi truck hitting me on the drivers side pulling out of our local post office. On several occasions I have needed to yank the vehicle off the road so as not to get rear ended in traffic. I have taken it to dealership several times, which they said they fixed the issue by replacing something called a break switch, "twice" this however did not correct problem. The national Infiniti group sent a recording device which the dealer installed, this meant that when this event occurred I was supposed to reach down to the console where the device was located and push a button to record event all the while trying to avoid an accident. I successfully did it without incident and recorded the requested 6 events. This problem has been consistently occurring now for 7 months. I purchased this vehicle for my elderly parents with every available safety option for thier safety, and I have not been able to let them drive the car for over 6 months since they took it on a trip. Fearing that they will not be abel to react fast enough to avoid being in an accident or worse getting killed in this vehicle. I have been forced to drive it. Infiniti called today and said the results from data recorder showed no fix needed at this time, so they are clearly ignoring the issue as I have read online other people having the exact issue. Someone or some family is going to have a tragic accident with this problem and I want to go on record that Infiniti corporate are fully aware of the problem and chose to do nothing.

I have been having issues with my Infiniti Qx60 since I purchased it 09/2014. There is a problem with it accelerating. I would press on the gas and it wouldn't give me the acelleration that I would expect from this car. . . It is very sluggish. I have told this to the dealership on several occasions since 2014. Every time they checked it, they said there wasn't a problem. One time, I received the same car as a loaner car while they worked on my car, and I could clearly see that there was a difference in the way that car drove versus mine. The loaner car drove better than my car. So, to make a long story short, I dropped my car off at the dealership in mid-may (last month) to be looked at. The service advisor told me that there is an issue with my car (judder issue) and they had my car for a week. During that time, I went online and found others had the same complaints. One person said that their dealership ended up purchasing their car back from them/ refunded their money because the judder issue wasn't resolved. I also spoke to a regional specialist at Infiniti and have a case # of case # 22529177. I am going to contact the regional specialist again because this issue isn't resolved but the bottom line is that Infiniti sells inferior cars. Another issue is the rubber molding on the passenger right door is coming off and preventing me from closing the door and when someone is in the passenger seat, with their seatbelt is on, the airbag light comes on. Im scared that my car will just die on me as I'm driving it. With all the things that are happening with automobiles these days, I do not ant to fall victim to any of these issues.

I bought this SUV in may 2014. About two weeks after my wife and I both noticed that the vehicle shudders at 20 mph when you apply gas. It started getting worse and we called the dealer who scheduled a review. They eventually installed a new transmission. We are about 4 weeks after this repair and are noticing the same issue again. There were also about four incidents where I would shift from park to drive and the transmission would not change into gear for over 10 seconds. . . . . As though it was low on fluid or had a line blockage. I also noticed that when I'm driving at highway speed it and accelerate, sometimes it felt like the transmission was excessively downshifting. I see that this has also been a problem on the jx35 which is the same SUV as the Qx60.
