1 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2019

Excessive condensation and internal fogging in the passenger side head lamp caused the lights (high beams, hazard beams and regular lights) to fail and remain inoperable. Driving without proper paired lighting is unsafe. The headlamp assembly was diagnosed at an Infiniti dealer as requiring full replacement. Excessive condensation caused the water to damage the headlight assembly and is not associated with the normal wear and tear required by consumers. The cost of replacing said head lamp assembly exceeds $2000 even though the car has not encountered a front end collision. After contacting Infiniti consumer affairs department, they concluded that no open recall existed. Therefore, Infiniti would not cover the cost and I was forced to pay over $2000 to replace the waterlogged lamp as driving without said replacement during the evening, night or during poor weather conditions poses a danger to me and other drivers. The lamp assembly was faulty by design since this issue has occurred with similar Infiniti vehicles and has been remedied by a recall. Nhtsa should force a recall of the Qx60 headlamp that fails due to excessive condensation and is not categorized as normal wear to my vehicle.
