8 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2023

Hello the cvt transmission in these 2014-2017 vehicles have been known to be defective. Apparently Infiniti settled a lawsuit that was suing them for this exact reason. They settled without admitting fault. Problem with that is all these vehicles are still on the road and customers are unaware. They say they informed us but I can assure you I never was informed. They also sent a service bulletin to their dealerships telling them to expect problems and to fix if brought in. The vehicles are dangerous without a doubt. They shake, shudder and lose acceleration with no warning. No lights come on the dash or anything. Someone will lose their life, if they haven’t already. The law firm had company emails showing they were going to do a recall. Corporate greed is my guess, got in the way. Now unsuspecting customers are driving ticking time bombs. Also owners are trying to sell these vehicles to unsuspecting customers. There is no way this should be acceptable in my opinion and am extremely disappointed with the lack of concern I’ve received from the company. We are paying for a so called “luxury” vehicle only to find out later that the transmission should of been recalled years ago. Here I sit with my 20k used vehicle blue book broken down car now. It’ll cost $9800 to fix. Just isn’t right and I hope I’m finding someone that will at minimum look into it. Please, do us all a favor before it’s to late. Thank you.

9 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2022

Shortly after purchasing this used vehicle from carmax, the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical failures involving the engine/emissions system, braking system, and suspension. The vehicle displayed a check engine warning light, and the selling dealer, carmax schaumburg, confirmed issues requiring repair, including a faulty oxygen sensor, brake-related repairs, and a suspension link. The vehicle was taken in for service, parts were ordered, and repairs were performed. Despite these repairs, the same issues reoccurred, requiring the vehicle to be returned for additional repair attempts. The problems were therefore reproduced after the initial repair, confirming the existence of unresolved defects. The vehicle was not reliably safe during this period. These failures posed safety risks due to reduced braking reliability, compromised vehicle stability, and engine performance concerns, which could affect drivability and safe operation under normal conditions. The defects were confirmed and serviced by the dealer, as documented through service communications and voicemail messages from carmax. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, were present prior to repair and prompted service visits. Exact mileage at the time of the incidents is unknown, as it was not clearly disclosed at purchase. Before the issues were fully and permanently resolved, the vehicle was repossessed, resulting in the loss of the vehicle while unresolved safety and mechanical defects existed. The repossession prevented further inspection or repair by the consumer. The repaired components and service records should be available for inspection through the dealer. No police or insurance inspection occurred in connection with a collision, as the issue involved mechanical and safety defects rather than an accident.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

Shuddering, shaking & skipping while driving. It’s a nightmare. The car (qx60- 2015) can’t go over 20 miles without “jumping” on me. I am fearing for my safety. It’s only a bulletin by Infiniti and not a recall. This is unacceptable.

11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2021

Transmission failed. The car was shuddering for a while now. The term "shuddering" I learned after describing issue to dealer who told me that looks like a transmission issue. After paying $170 to get it checked, I was told that transmission has premature failure code and must be replaced. I was told that the car is under 60k mileage, but over time period of warranty period by 2 months. They gave me a quote of around $6,500 to replace transmission. My car is 2015 infinit Qx60, which is exactly the same as 2014 version (which has transmission recall). The problem apparently was not fixed for 2015 version, but the recall was only issues for 2013 and 2014. I contacted initini, however they told me to contact their legal team. This issue should be put on recall.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

First off there is a safety bulletin already released. And I know 2 others who own this vehicle who have the exact same issues. It's time to actually take care of your clients and fox the drive train issue. Where when driving and turning especially at slow speeds there is a violent vibration that comes from the front of the vehicle. Please take care of your customers. The dealership originally told us this issue would be replaced under recall. Then said sorry it's just a bulletin now. But it will turn into a recall before the winter. And thai was last year. So we have waited over a year now and there is still no official infinity Qx60 2015 recall.

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2020

The transmision was realy bad on the freeway.

14 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2019

Shuddering while driving p0776 code transmission skipping while driving stalling while driving.

15 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2019

4 days after completing scheduled maintenance at the Infiniti dealership the vehicle exhibited difficulty accelerating and engaging in the gears while driving on the highway. If I had to slow down and then tried to accelerate, the car would not respond. I had to remove my foot from the gas pedal and reengage the accelerator to make the car pick up speed. I did reach my destination but upon arrival could not get the car to accelerate beyond 10-15 mph. I had to have the car towed from tallahassee, FL. Back to tampa, FL. Infiniti dealership. I've just been informed the entire transmission must be replaced.

16 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2019

Just purchased on 3/10/19 infinity Qx60 from car max with 25,727 miles at purchase and on 3/12 vehicle shutters and jerks vigorously at high and low speeds in motion on city street and while turning.

17 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2018

At approximately 40k miles, the dealer replaced the cvt because the car was "bucking" and created a code that the mechanics could see. That fixed the problem until a few thousand miles later; the car now jutters around 20-25mph on flat roads and very pronounced on inclines then produces a wobble throughout the car at speeds above 25mph. When I take my foot off the gas, the symptom stops. Both the service manager and transmission specialist took the car for a ride with me and experienced the symptoms. Dealer said that because it is not producing a code, there is nothing they can do. Asked that I drive it for a few more weeks to see if a code appears. Yesterday, I brought it back to the dealer with the same symptoms to check for a fault code; none were present. Dealer said there was nothing they could do without a code and suggested I contact Infiniti consumer affairs. I did that and was told a regional representative will contact me in 24 hours. In about 3 hours, that time will have passed. I am concerned that the transmission issue will leave my wife and young kids stranded. We are due to leave tomorrow for a vacation 4 hours away; I will be renting an SUV for over $500 for the trip because of a lack of confidence with the vehicle.
