Failure Date: 05/28/2010

This past week there was a near miss when a v8 engine was being removed from test cell 18 north at the navistar engineering facility in melrose park illinois at 10400 west north avenue. The near miss occurred when the rear engine mount failed causing the engine to drop. Management ([xxx] ) is attempting to blame the mechanic ([xxx] ) for the failure. This failure is a direct result of navistar cost reducing the part from a 3 bolt design to a 2 bolt design.
