Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem #1

Engine start harness has a 40 amp fuse installed in a 30 amp rated fuse holder. Holder will over heat (melt) without blowing fuse, causing the metal contacts to char / loosen, causing an open run curcuit, which causes the engine to stall. This can happen at any time, idle, running in stop and go traffic and at freeway speeds. When this occures you loose all engine based assist, electrical, power steering, lighting. Navstar (International) has addressed this issue on school bus chassis, but sayes the problem doesn't exist on approximately 250 chassis sold to gulf stream motorhomes for fitting of the coach. The dealer fix is to replace the failing fuse holder with the same failing part until warranty expires, then they recommend the replacement wiring harness provided to school bus owners at no cost, for a cost of approx. $600 parts and labor. This fuse assembly has been replaced by International 2 times and I have replaced it twice myself. I always carry spares as I have experienced a failure last July in southern arizona in 107 degree heat.
