The contacted owns a 2000 Jaguar S-type. While the vehicle was parked, the front driver side air bag deployed without warning. The contact was injured, but did not receive medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 170,000.
The contact owns a 2000 Jaguar S-type. The side air bag on the drivers side suddenly deployed while driving 35 mph. No one was injured and the contact was able to drive to her residence. The manufacturer was called and informed her to take the vehicle to the dealer so that they could perform a diagnostic test in order to view the error code and determine why the air bag deployed. Vehicle was involved in a severe side impact, in which none of the side air bags deployed. One injury reported. Dealer and manufacturer were notified. After vehicle was hit, it spun 180 degrees and slammed broadside into a tree.
Driver's side airbag deployed while driving 55 mph. Vehicle was going over a piece of ice on road. The consumer pointed out that the vehicle passed over a piece of ice or a small piece of rock which caused the air bag to deploy.

Due to white powder within airbag, destroyed interior and moulding of vehicle. Dealer claimed there was undercarriage damage, and could cause side airbags to deploy. But there was no evidence of side impact.
