I have had my 2005 Jaguar S-type since about 2011. But since then I have noticed that every time I fill the gas tank it leaks, which I always thought it was over fill. But now I realized it was not. I took it to a auto shop who told me it has a gas leak from the gas tank. He mentioned that Jaguars had a recall on the gas tank and that this one may have been done wrong since the fix did not work and it was still leaking. I contacted the dealer who said that the gas tank was replaced by the recall in 2007 but since it was still leaking I would have to contact the manufacture (Jaguar motors) to see if the fix was covered under the recall since it may have not fixed the leak. I was told by the dealer that it may have been not sealed correctly but only Jaguar motors could approve them to reseal or replace the gas tank. I called them and they were very rude (terrence) saying it was done in 2007 and they had nothing to do with it any more. I told terrence the recall didn't work and the car is still dangerous. He said Jaguar replaced the tank and that is all they had to do. I told them that it was not done right because it was still leaking and he said it was my problem not theirs. I am wondering how dangerous is this car and shouldn't Jaguar fix their recalls correctly to meet recall standards? I am also wondering what I can do. . .
