Parking brake fault/e-brake module . . . My vehicle was stationary and my attempt to start the vehicle I was unable to move it out of gear. I took it to the dealership and they offered to repair or replace the e brake module. My furher reserach indicatedt that this is an existing problem with different years of this model car that have been previously been recalled by the car manufacture. The dealer and the manufacture appears to be aware of this pre-existing problem with these cars and have fail to correct or address the problem.

Vehicle parking brake randomly comes on without warning and causes car to try lock wheels even when driving. Sometimes when first start the parking brake is locked even if I don't use it and will unlock when start rolling. Vehicle has multiple misfire coeds and restricted performance and loses power for no reason. Also dangerous when driving in traffic. Not sure what issues is but has new plugs and coils and everything so believe electrical issue.

Bought car on Friday(7/20/18). Upon arriving home and after getting acquainted and accustomed to car, detected the following problems that I was unable to detect during test drive. After reviewing car fax report and dmv car info, was aware of car history, after verifying carfax indicated they would purchase back my car if determined to be a lemon, I purchased vehicle w/ full confidence. Arriving home, determined the following safety issues with the car that I was unable to notice during a routine test drive. Upon driving vehicle at home, noticed immediately the following safety issue's 1. )brake system~applyinging breaks, prior to stopping the car jerks to an abrupt stop making pax in vehicle experience a whiplash effect 2. ) determined at home after reading manual, that the red light illumination when accelerating vehicle found out it was the "priority light" indicating coolant fluid level low. 3. ) also, attempted to go shopping on Saturday but when arrived at store realized car would not lock w/ either remote or key. Both do not lock vehicle, unable the status of alarm, and while car is parked, still unable to keep doors n vehicle locked. Informed dealer and assured me it would be inspected and addressed . Also, informed dealer for some assistance after paying over $5k cash. Above are listed problems determined, notified dealer and asked me to bring in on Monday for 2'nd attempt. Paid to much money to have to go through these tragedies when dealer should have at least been up front and honest when he assured me vehicle had no issues rather the hanging up on me the first time I tried to contact dealer on Saturday, day after purchase.
Odi#11101609 - update information. Update, my car recall part was replaced for $574. 04 and I picked it up yesterday 6-27-18, by a local auto parts repair shop, I have the bill to show proof. Jaguar Land Rover gwinnett salesman frisco dollard 770-680-5000 ofc emailed me on 6-16-18 to sale me another car, I told him I want my car fixed not a sale. He told me to call mike white service mgr. After leaving several messages, mr white called me back very rude and stated, they would not compensate me for the recall defect part. After I asked him to run my VIN# he stated the recall part was replaced 6-29-2007 under my name. I told him that was impossible because I did not buy this car until 7-9-2007. He became more upset and short with me and said it would be after 7-4-18 before they could even look at my car $150. 00 just to diagnostics plus any part or labor just bring it in, I told him it was not drive-able, he said that was my problem. Nothing else they could or would do. I feel this was a total let down and neglect on my vehicle by Jaguar Land Rover I could had been killed or serious hurt because of a faulty brake recall/defect part on my car that should have been replaced years ago at any service visit that I had at their place of business. Now that I have paid the added expense for this repair and they were not willing to do anything to help correct this problem. Un-justice has been done to me. Sincerely, diane merriweather.
I found a recall on the electronic park brake module for a defect to be replaced since 2005, but I was never notified. I have had this vehicle since 2007 with many services at the dealership since purchased. Monday June 11, 2018 my parking brake engaged and would not release. This is s serious safety concern. I was parked away from home paying a bill in the poring rain and had to have my car towed to the nearer dealership. It has been 3 days now without transportation and I still don't know if they can fix it. All this could have been avoided with proper service and notification from the authorized dealership years ago at the time of service.

My 2003 Jaguar s type is getting a parking brake fault/engine system fault and dsc not available at the same time with the abs brake symbol. I have new brakes on my car and the rotors are good as well. I was driving and my car lighting system came up with that above and started to move slowly on a city street. I don't know what is causing this problem. I see that there was a recall on the parking brake module back in 2005 but I am the second owner of this car. I am not sure if this was taken care of by the previous owner. I have called several Jaguar places about records on this car about these recall/s but I am getting the run around. Luckily I haven't had any accidents with this issue. Please help. . .

Initially while being parked in Dec. 2014, I started the car but could not release the electronic park brake. I had to drive it to a mechanic 3 miles away with the brakes smoking. They saw a procedure for resetting the park brake and gave me a copy. All was well for 2 mos. But driving along about 30mph they suddenly locked. I was able to pull over and fortunately had been carrying tools for this and performed the procedure. It happened two more times in 2015 after I was stopped with engine off. I called Jaguar and they said there is no recall, but I have been afraid to drive it long distances and do not want to sell it as it is a serious safety concern. Jaguar offered to look at it but I know all about that and what it could cost, especially when it does not always happen. Note: see enclosed documents for 2004, but I have supposedly a 2005 with this issue.
I got in my car to leave and the dash keep saying apply parking brake tried to and the parking brake would not release.

The distance of the brake pedal and accelerator pedal are almost the same distance from the car floor and the pedals are close enough that a foot can contact both. After starting the car in a parking lot and putting in drive I stepped on the brake but the car lurched forward and the harder I pressed the brake the faster the car went over a concrete barrier. The cause was, of course, that I was stepping on both pedals. A year later the same thing happened and I rammed and broke a garage door. The height of the brake pedal must be raised about an inch so that stepping on the brake pedal will not allow simultaneous stepping the accelerator. I have contacted Jaguar, north America ref# [xxx]. On my car I have put a 7/8 inch block on the brake pedal to raise the height. If it had been a person ahead of me instead of a garage door I probably would have killed him. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
