The contact owns a 2000 Jaguar S-type. The side air bag on the drivers side suddenly deployed while driving 35 mph. No one was injured and the contact was able to drive to her residence. The manufacturer was called and informed her to take the vehicle to the dealer so that they could perform a diagnostic test in order to view the error code and determine why the air bag deployed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the vehicle bottomed out which caused the air bag to deploy. The vehicle was not repaired by the dealer. She will notify the insurance company regarding the repairs. The dealer and the manufacturer will not repair the failure. The failure and current mileages were 53,000.

My wife and I own a 2003 Jaguar s type. On the morning of the incident my wife got into the passenger seat and I in the drivers seat. When I turned on the ignition the passenger side air bag exploded, the dash cover that covers the air bag blew out just missing my wifes head, and completely smashed the windshield, ruining the cover and the windshield. It also blew out the sunroof breaking the plastic pieces that allow the sunroof to open and close. I called Jaguar who told me to have the car towed to the nearest Jaguar dealer. After 3 weeks I was told by the service manager that the cause of the air bag going off was a wire that came from the back of the airbag holder and connected to the airbag. The carrage that the airbag sits in had very sharp edges where the wire goes thru to connect with the airbag. As a result the wire rubbing on the airbag carrage rubbed thru the insulation of the wire causing the air bag to explode upon the turning of the key. Jaguar will do nothing to repair my vehicle ,but more then that someone is going to get killed as the metal dash plate over the airbag comes out at aprox. 800 miles per hour, enough speed and power to completely shatter the windshield, and sunroof.

While driving a Jaguar rental car from hertz we were broad sided on the passenger side by a limousine running a red light. The force of the impact pushed our car into an SUV in the turn lane before our car landed on the median. The car was totaled. The airbag indicator light appeared in the panel, however, no front or side airbags deployed. Passenger sustained a head injury due to the accident, hitting the window and door frame during the collision. Why didn't the airbags deploy?.

1. Crash (t-boned-driver's side) 2. Side airbags did not deploy. . . Back and neck injuries to driver. 3. Nothing.

In excess of $10k spent in a 24 month period on various repairs on my 2000 S-type.

Vehicle was involved in a severe side impact, in which none of the side air bags deployed. One injury reported. Dealer and manufacturer were notified. After vehicle was hit, it spun 180 degrees and slammed broadside into a tree.

Driver's side airbag deployed while driving 55 mph. Vehicle was going over a piece of ice on road. The consumer pointed out that the vehicle passed over a piece of ice or a small piece of rock which caused the air bag to deploy.

When vehicle was hit on the driver's side, between the front and rear doors, there was no deployment of the driver's side or passenger's side air bags. Also, driver's side seat belt came loose from the post.

Passenger seat mounted side air bag deployed without a crash. It appears there is damage to undercarriage where srs is located.

While driving at 65 mph driver heard explosion, side airbags deployed without any kind of impact, causing loss of vehicle control. Due to white powder within airbag, destroyed interior and moulding of vehicle. Dealer claimed there was undercarriage damage, and could cause side airbags to deploy. But there was no evidence of side impact.

Undercarriage impact caused the driver's side airbags to deploy. The consumer stated he ran over an object in the road, possibly a rock or a piece of concrete about the size of a football which caused the driver's side air bag to deploy.
