Vehicle displays 'gearbox fault' indicator lamp and suddenly shifts into limp home mode when driven in rainy conditions. Dealership diagnostic indicated "transmission valve body fault" however, owner investigation revealed water leaked through firewall connection and into engine control module. At owners behest, further dealership pin-out diagnostic work revealed water intrusion caused a short circuit and subsequent damage interconnected transmission control module.
