Waiting in fast food service line; vehicle gearshift in "drive" foot on brake; car idling slowly but suddenly revved violently and lurched forward; jammed brakes; rear tires spinning, smoking; foot definitely didnot accidentally engage gas pedal;shifted car gearshift to "neutral. " engine rev slowed to normal idle. Waited a few second; returned gearshift to "drive" vehicle responded normally. Vehicle was driven approximately 5 miles to residence without further incidence. First incident of this nature. Feel very fortunate no accident occurred or injury to driver, passengers, other vehicles or property. Research on "Jaguar forums" detailed other similar incidents dating back to '05 and as recent as 2012. Only one such incident appears on NHTSA complaint roster.
