1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2005

October 2,2005 on the northern state pkwy, 15 mins into my trip, the engine temp gauge light turned red and the indicator needle jumped past the red (overheat) zone. As I decelerated off the pkwy onto the exit ramp the engine started to smoke profusely and the car rolled to a stop, while the engine completely burned out. The car was towed to the dealership where the next day as I showed up to get something out of the car, to assure me that I didn't need to worry one of the mechanics pointed out another car identical to mine that had suffered the same malady and was now having its engine completely rebuilt. Almost forgot, the car was attended to for it's regular scheduled maintenance by this same dealership on September 8, 2005.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2004

Searing problem with Jaguar 3. 0 X-type. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer 10 times for repair. The consumer is afraid that the vehicle will either explode or catch on fire. The consumer request that a new vehicle be assigned to the lease.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2003

While sitting in traffic, the vehicle all of a sudden caught on fire. There was no warning, smoke started to come from the hood. (heaviest on the right side of the hood) the engine block was totally destroyed. The hot spot appeared close to the windshield. When the fire started, it smelled like electrical wiring. The dealer couldn't find the problem.
