The contact owns a 2004 Jaguar x- type. The driver's side air bag is coming out of the dashboard. The air bag is supposed to be inside the horn; however, it is located approximately one inch from where it should be located. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the heat in the vehicle caused the air bag to pop out. The air bag needed to be replaced. The manufacturer stated that it was not a safety issue, but rather a cosmetic issue. The contact believes that the manufacturer should replace the air bag for free. The failure mileage was 43,000 and current mileage was 44,000. Updated 12/12/08 there was cosmetic damage to the air bag cover. Updated 12/15/08.
