The contact owns a 2006 Jaguar X-type. The contact stated that while in the vehicle and depressing the brake pedal, the engine started revving at high speed. The vehicle was inadvertently moving forward into traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after turning off and restarting the vehicle, the failure recurred. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,500.
