As my wife was exiting the freeway she pressed on the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated causing a major crash (totaled) and serious injuries. She tried pumping the brakes and could not slow the vehicle. The vehicle behind her reported in the police report that the car on the exit ramp decelerated and suddenly accelerated. There was a red light at the bottom of the exit ramp, her foot was not on the gas pedal nor did the car mats interfere with the brake pedal. No one else was in the vehicle. The brakes were very well maintained. A search of the internet indicated 2003/2006 Jaguar X-type had acceleration problems with other drivers pressing on the brake pedal. I can email you my search results if you so desire. The air bag was only deployed on the passenger side.

The tire in question, drivers side front, without notice completely deflated causing the vehicle to go out of control at approximately 50 mph, spin out, go through the median and into the opposite lane. On the inside of the tire (side closest to the engine), the sidewall of the tire had been completely removed from the tread. Note: tire type is a zri which is not listed a choice in the database.

Brakes failed going 70 mph on the freeway. Absolutely no brakes and pedal went complete to floor without no stopping. Used emergency brake and rear-ended car in front. No air bags went off. Car speed was about 35-40mph at time of impact due to slowing from emergency brake.
2002 Jaguar x type was involved in a roll over and none of the air bags deployed. Cruise control and brake equipment are posing a problem as well. The driver and passenger sustained severe injuries.
The airbag electronic module is not properly, vehicle will not give information on passenger weight requirements to activate the system.
