1 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2006 Jaguar X-type

Failure Date: 12/01/2006

- the contact owns a 2006 Jaguar X-type purchased on November 10, 2006 with 15 miles. The contact explained that early in December 2006 while driving the vehicle between 40 to 45 mph and before coming to a stop sign the vehicle failed to respond when the brakes were applied. The vehicle continued at the same speed. This caused the contact to move on to the emergency lane to avoid hitting another vehicle. The contact continued to apply the brake pedal while on the emergency lane until the vehicle stopped. The contact explained that mid December 2006, while driving at 30 mph on a country road, the brakes did not respond when applied. Even after the brake was applied the vehicle went at the same speed and the cruise control stayed on. After pressing the brake pedal a few times the vehicle was able to stop. At no time was the cruise control ever activated. The third time a similar problem occurred was on 1/20/07. The contact took the vehicle to thomas Cadillac and Jaguar of hardford on 1/24/07,where an ids was installed, and the pedal switch was adjusted and checked. The contact stated that the cruise control became active on all three occasions and pumping the brake pedal did not disengage the cruise control to allow the vehicle to slow down or properly stop. The failure mileage was 1743 and the current mileage was 2100. On February 16,2007 the contact's vehicle was involved in a crash. The driver was not able to stop while driving at 30 mph and making a right turn, under sunny and dry driving conditions. Update 4/9.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2005 Jaguar X-type

Failure Date: 04/08/2005

The contact complained about brake problem on 2005 Jaguar x type. When applying the brakes the car will not stop. The contact did not recall if the vehicle made any noises prior to braking. She took vehicle to dealer, and they could not or would not do anything. Took two more times, and they have not fixed the problem. Almost had an accident three times. The road was dry all three times. She was concerned about the cold weather . This happened at all speeds. The contact noticed this approximately six months ago. Notified the manufacturer, and they told her if the dealership could not reproduce the problem there was no problem.

3 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2004 Jaguar X-type

Failure Date: 01/15/2005

On three separate occasions vehicle would intermittently commence to accelerate while applying the brake pedal. Vehicle had been to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the problem. . While at alight vehicle accelerated and surged, forcing the driver to shift into neutral until engine stopped accelerating.

4 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2004 Jaguar X-type

Failure Date: 12/08/2004

While driving consumer noticed a parked vehicle on the highway. Consumer tried to avoid hitting the vehicle by making a right turn onto the shoulder, but steering wheel failed. Consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Consumer's vehicle collided with the other vehicle. It flipped over three times and landed in a ditch. Upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy, but passenger's side air bag deployed. Driver and passenger sustained head and back injuries, and were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Vehicle was towed and totaled by the insurance company.

5 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2002 Jaguar X-type

Failure Date: 03/26/2003

Nar 04/21/2003 mr the consumers automobile was in a series block of vehicles build and sold with a defective chip. After having several problems with the vehicle such as; the seat belt adjusters broken, the clock radio audio system inoperative, the brakes having been replaced, failure of the transmission interlocking which causes a clicking noise. And to date the consumer has only received one recall (r935) notice. The consumer is very dissatisfied and feels that Jaguar has failed to tackle the problems as stated, hopefully compensation for the defective vehicle will be enacted. The dashboard instrument panel was replaced. The hvac made a noise when the defroster was on.
